Chapter 42

The Community 

I was amazed to see everyone under Evander’s command and running this community was young. Each person seemed to be more than 5 years older than me. Where were all the old people?

We made two more stops to isolated homes before finally making it to the center of the property. I recognized the area from the previous day, where saw the four long homes and the huge barn. Looking at everything now, I realized it would maybe be a year or two before they completely settle in.

Unlike Godrics’s land, there weren’t any buildings, stores, or even markets.

As soon as we exited the car, all eyes were on us. I noticed a few tables with umbrellas placed near the barn. And in the middle of those tables was a big pit used for grilling food. Smoke arose from the pit and floated through the air.
