42. Royal Sparring Matches

Rayan POV

My princess was back in my arms, & all was right in the world again. I hadn't brought up the subject of the prick in the basement yet, but I didn't want to spoil the mood. Everyone was in high spirits with my mate's return, but no one more than me. I was laying there, with her on my chest as the first rays of sun began streaming in through the window. Normally she would be up by now, insisting on a morning jog.

I suppose giving her wolf the freedom she needs had eased her restlessness. I had slept for a few hours, but I was wide awake now as I watched the sleeping beauty on my chest, mesmerized by her every feature. It still amazed me that a creature so small, delicate & beautiful could be so dangerous & deadly. I had never actually seen her fight, but I had watched her train the other students so I knew she was capable of causing a fair amount of destruction.

"Good morning, my King." She opened her eyes & smiled up at me.
