We waited outside the ballroom doors for them to announce us before we entered. Rayan's hands roamed over the backside of my dress, but I enjoyed his touch as much as he enjoyed touching me. Today would be the first time I interacted with my kingdom since I had started murdering people infront of them. I didn't feel bad about what I'd done, though I worried how my people would see me. I didn't want them to fear me, that wasn't my intention when I had taken those lives. I did what I did to protect them, I just hoped they understood that. I knew that those closest to me would understand my reasoning, but I worried about those of my friends that I hadn't really had a chance to talk to all week, like David. I knew it was stupid but I suddenly found myself worried over what David might think of my actions over the past week.
