12 - Make Me Yours

Godfrey was finally opening up to me, finally making an effort to get to know me. I couldn’t freak out, I couldn’t show my age and be a bubbly little girl, no. That would just turn him off. Confidence, strong, but sexy. I can do this!

“My turn,” he said, pulling my arms down from his neck and taking my hand once more.

We began walking again.

“Describe your perfect partner,” he said.

I wanted to snort and just say, you … duh. No, he probably wouldn’t believe me.

“My perfect partner is … my best friend. My lover, my confidant. He holds me and makes me feel safe and loved. He is patient with me, I know I can be difficult,” I admitted.

“Difficult is the same as a brat,” he asked.

It took every ounce of restraint not to bend down and get a handful of sand to throw in his face. Like he would let me get away with it. If I thought my brothers were quick with stuff like that, a vampire would stop me before I even got it in my hands.
