DARREN'S POV

I'm glad Leona likes her new apartment. I personally chose the place. The road was passable, going to our house. I can check on her every day and easily come for any emergency.

My parents love the area too. It was accessible to the highway and easy to find. Mom was planning to invite her into the house more often. She and dad were very excited, thinking we were getting along well.

But talking about babies was still early, especially since we were not married yet. Out engagement is on the way. Until then, I still had to work on lifting my curse, and Rupert was still tailing the witch, and I hadn't heard from him for days.

"Cora, did Rupert call?" I asked Rupert's mom. I am worried. His phone was out of reach. This isn't him.

"He did yesterday. That boy rented a house near the so-called witch. He was watching her round the clock. I was supposed to tell you, but you didn't come home yesterday."

"He rented there? At the suburb? Why didn't he call me?"

"Darren, I told him. B
