Chapter 25: Road to recovery

"Hey girlfriend, I brought you, your favourite, tacos," she said with a smile and Mrs Brown opened her eyes smiling

"Mum!," Ruth called out to her.

She looked in her direction and smiled. Ruth sat on the chat next to the bed beaming with smiles.

"Do you feel better now?" Cassandra asked drawing Mrs Brown's attention back to herself

She nodded with a smile. Ruth opened the basket and brought out the items. She realized it was rather porridge Cassandra had prepared. There were some sandwiches too which she assumed were for her.

"I thought you brought tacos," Ruth asked smiling and Mrs Brown rolled her eyes upon hearing what Ruth had just said.

She opened her mouth in an attempt to say something but remembered a huge part of her tongue was gone and would not be able to make any meaningful statement

"I know, what you want to say, I deceived you again. Don't worry one day I will surprise you," Cassandra said with a smile but Ruth felt sad within.
