Chapter 28: Just sign and I will help you

"Ms Brown, where did you go? We have been looking for you everywhere. Your mother just had a cardiac arrest. We managed to save her but she slipped into a coma," he informed her

"What!" Ruth exclaimed and her hand flew to cover her mouth as tears flow freely down her face.

She crushed to the ground crying. One of the nurses helped her to a seat as the doctor walked away to attend to other patients after delivering his message.

"She will be fine," the nurse consoled before leaving Ruth to seat by herself crying

"How can I be so stupid? Why did I leave her alone," she cried still sitting in the patient's waiting area.

After a few minutes, she saw her mother being pushed back to the ward. She got up and followed them into the ward. They attached the monitors to her body and left the ward with the empty stretcher. Ruth sat on the bed holding Mrs Brown's hand in her, as tears streamed down her face.

Outside the ward, in the corridor, someone in a hoodie walked towards the staircase
