Chapter 1: Diana

Darkness surrounded me; there was something covering my eyes. Trying to move, I noticed that my arms were bound above my head; I began squirming, attempting to fight to break my bonds, with no success. It was then that I heard soft whistling, then a slight chuckle; I felt something cold slide down my body from my breast down just above my core which made my back arch, “So pretty, baby.” A man said, his breath fanned against my ear, “Ready for some fun?” He asked as he nibbled my earlobe, I squirmed,

“Where am I?” I asked, “Who are you?” He chuckled as he grabbed my bare breast firmly; it was that moment that I realized that I was completely exposed to this stranger. The man placed his hands on my knees and then spoke,

“Don’t worry, darling, I’ll make sure you’ll enjoy it.” He spread my legs wider, which I tried to fight but lost, “As for who I am,” he said as he shoved a finger deep inside of me, making me call out, “you can call me, Master.” My breath caught in my throat.

I shot up, sweat pouring down my skin. I sighed as I saw the time on the clock beside my bed, four, thirty in the morning. I groaned and got up and stretched before going to my bathroom. I stared at my reflection. My red hair was drenched in sweat and several knots were in it; this is going to hurt, I thought. Picking up my hairbrush, I immediately attacked the tangles. I sighed, thinking about the stranger in my dream; his husky voice had me soaked. I tried to compose myself, but it’s been a year since my nineteenth birthday, and I still haven’t found my mate.

Deciding to go for a run, I went downstairs to the back room and stripped out of my clothes before opening the door. Bones began to crack, and fur sprouted from my skin; my face and claws elongated, and soon, I was a big, red wolf. The second my paws hit the damp earth, I felt calming peace come over me. A breath in and I bolted for the woods, dodging the trees, jumping over rocks, and feeling the slight, cool breeze blow through my fur. I loved being in this form; it felt easier sometimes than being human, but there were some advantages to being human.

After a half an hour of running, I came across a stream and decided to rest for a minute before heading back. I walked up to the water and took a drink before laying down to rest my paws. Even with the peace I now felt, my mind began wondering about the man from my dream; who was he? Was the dream a warning? A vision? Heaving a sigh, I got up and started the run back home.

Mom stood outside with my robe, and she did not look happy. I quickly shifted back and took the robe from her, “Hi, mom,” I said as I tied the robe tightly. Mom crossed her arms,

“Where have you been?” She asked as she followed me inside,

“I went for a run, I needed to clear my head.” I told her, she huffed then grabbed something out of my closet.

“I hope you didn’t forget that a pack is coming to talk to Alpha Victor about a peace treaty.” She said as she laid a nice sundress on my bed, “The whole pack has to be there to welcome them.” I groaned and threw myself against my unmade bed,

“Why does the whole pack have to go to see one stuck up Alpha?” I asked, which earned me a slap on my leg and a death look directed at me,

“It’s actually two Alphas, Diana.” Mom said, “Alpha Victor wants all of us there because he wants to show them that we’re a strong pack.”

“Fine, I’m going to shower then I’ll get ready.” I told her; she smiled and then left my room, but not before popping back in for a moment,

“Fix your hair in that pretty waterfall braid with the curls on the bottom.” I didn’t bother glancing up, I just gave her a simple thumbs up. As soon as the door was shut, I got up and began to get ready.

The water felt nice over my skin; the little trickles helped soothe my muscles as I washed my hair in my watermelon shampoo and conditioner. I made sure my legs were silky-smooth then washed my body before rinsing. Once I was out, I tied my hair up in a towel and dried off my body before putting lotion on. After slipping on my dress and sandals, I went back to the bathroom and brushed out my damp hair and brushed my teeth while I waited for my wand to heat up. Within fifteen minutes, my hair was done, and I just did my lip balm. I was never a big fan of makeup, but I didn’t mind just enough to make me look less like a zombie. Looking in my full-length mirror, I decided I looked alright, that’s when the door opened and mom entered, “Come on, Diana, the pack is here.” She told me as she grabbed my wrist and pulled me out of the house to catch up with the rest of our pack.

Three black cars stopped outside the packhouse; mom fought our way to the front of the crowd that had formed. I stood there, my head lowered to show respect and my hands in front of me. I heard the doors open and almost instantly, the scents of vanilla and a forest spring hit me; my heart rate quickened, but I fought the urge to look up. I heard the low growls not far from me. Soon enough, I couldn’t fight it anymore and looked up, the second I did, I regretted it. Two pairs of dark green eyes stared directly into my eyes; my knees felt weak as they licked their lips. I instantly bowed my head again and started to apologize, “I-I’m sorry, I d-didn’t mean…” I was cut off when one of them placed a finger under my chin, forcing me to look up at them. They growled again then went to either side of my ears and muttered a four-letter word that almost stopped my heart,

“Mate.” They said in unison. A slight moan escaped my lips and my face flushed. I gulped when they stepped away and I saw all eyes on me; some with excitement, others with displeasure. I stared at them for a moment, taking in their features. One had dark brown hair and a bit of stubble, the other had lighter brown colored hair and stubble. I then saw Alpha Victor walking towards us,

“Alpha Blake, Alpha Connor,” He exclaimed, they turned slightly, keeping their eyes on me, “Shall we go inside?” He asked, the darker haired one turned to him,

“Yes, Connor and I are ready to discuss the treaty.” Blake turned back to me, then to the lighter haired one, Connor,

“Only if she comes as well.” I instantly froze as the sound of the voice rang through my ears. The memory of the stranger in my dream flooded to the surface. Alpha Victor took one look at my mother, who, without even looking at me, gave him a nod.

“Of course, Alpha Connor.” I mentally slapped the old man since doing it physically would have me banished or worse. Both Alphas reached for my hands, hesitantly, I took them, and they escorted me into the packhouse.

Alpha Victor turned to face us, “We have guest rooms ready for all of you, the ladies will take your things to the rooms.” He motioned to some of the ladies in front of the kitchen. I didn’t notice some of the other people that had followed us in,

“Matthew,” Blake said, a tall blonde with blue eyes stepped in front of him, “Help the drivers and the guards.” Matthew raised a brow,

“You mean, make sure they don’t do something stupid?” Blake smirked slightly, “You got it, boss.” I couldn’t help but giggle a little but caught myself instantly the second they all looked at me. Matthew excused himself and ran off to do his job.

“Alphas, if you will follow me, we can get the treaty discussed and signed now.” Alpha Victor said, they nodded,

“Yes, of course.” Blake said, he then turned his attention to me, “Come, little mate.” I kept my head lowered as we went up the stairs. The door opened to the office, and I was seated on the couch. Soon, a hand was placed on top of mine, I looked up to see Alpha Victor’s wife,

“Luna,” I bowed my head slightly which made her smile,

“No need for that Diana,” she said softly, I raised my head to watch her, “You can call me, Mary, now.” I smiled and nodded. We sat back and began talking while the men went over the treaty. This must be a dream…

Noo
It starts well, but little character background as to her rank. Hopefully, it develops as the story progresses.
