Chapter 5

Allysa Chloe Hernandez

When Manong Jose arrived, we went home.

When I got home, I immediately went straight to the room. I changed my house clothes and started doing school work.

At 7pm I went down to eat dinner. When I got to the dining area, I found Mom and Dad waiting. Maybe we had something to talk about so they went home early.

"There she is."

Daddy said when he saw me.

"Let's eat Allysa."

Mom said. 

While we were eating dinner, Mom spoke about something. 

"Allysa, did you do something stupid again?"

She  asked me.

"Why?"

I asked her. 

"Well the dean just called me earlier. She said there was an issue about you that needed to be discussed. What did you do again? Allysa can you please start to avoid some troubles. You're not a child anymore."

Maybe Kyline and her friends complained to the dean's office earlier. Well she's the one who started it.

"Just a little cat fighting Mom."

It was the only answer I gave to her. 

"With whom? And why did you do that?"

This question surprised me.

"Kyline with her friends. Bea and I heard that they set me up regarding the answer key found in my bag. And then I confronted her, I just wanted her to apologize to me. But instead of saying sorry they said that I deserved that. Well I got angry and started to pull their hair."

 I explained to them.

"That's ridiculous."

Mom was the only one who answered.

"After we talk to the dean of your university tomorrow. We will be having dinner with the Enriquez family. Make sure you get home early tomorrow."

"Yes Dad."

I know what's going on but I never expected this to be early.

The next day

When the dean talked to my Mom and Dad, the issue with me has been resolved. But I was suspended for a week because of what I did to Kyline.

I expected that to happen. I also know that it was not right for me to punish them. Maybe I was just carried away by my anger.

When I got home, my Mom immediately greeted me and escorted me up to my room.

"Allysa, we will be having dinner with the Enriquez family. Your Dad mentioned that to you last night, didn't he?"

"Yes. I already know that Mom. So what's the matter?"

I didn't want to ask her.

"Nothing, my daughter. I just prepared some dresses. I put it on top of the bed. You can wear whatever you want. You can choose and wear them and after that come down before 6:00 pm because you'll help me fix something. Okay?"

"Okay. Fine. I'll just take a nap Mom."

"Okay. I'll go ahead, just follow later."

"Yes Mom."

I answered her.

After my Mom left, I set the timer on my cell phone for five minutes. I just want to take a nap because today is tiring. Then I lay down on the bed and closed my eyes.

After five minutes, the timer that I set rang. I immediately got up even though I wanted to take a nap.

I have already bought a dress from the ones prepared by my Mom that are on the side of my bed. I measured them one by one to see which one suits me better.

In the end I chose the v-neck beige dress that is longer than my knee height. I also tied my hair up high. I looked stylish in my dress which I paired with a high ponytail. I also apply some powder and lip balm.

When I got down, my Mom praised me because she said that the dress I chose was perfect for me.

I went to the kitchen to help Manang Helen to prepare the food. Then I also helped my Mom to organize the whole of our house. She was happy as if a special guest was coming.

"Allysa child. Please take the dark chocolate cake I put on the fridge and put it on the table."

My Mom ordered while she was still busy arranging other things around.

A little while later, my brother Allen arrived from his friend Jayson's  welcome party. Mommy immediately ordered him to get ready because a guest was coming.

When he got down, he immediately pissed me off when he saw my dress.

"Waiting for your prince charming huh."

He said while grinning at me. He really knows how to piss me off.

"Shut up Brother. It's not funny."

I answered him.

While I was in the kitchen helping Manang Helen, I heard that Mom and Dad's awaited guest had arrived.

They went straight to the living room and started chatting. Based on what's going on in their conversation they seem to be really close to each other.

"Allysa, my daughter came here."

It was my Dad's voice from the living room. I immediately fixed myself and faced the mirror for a moment.

As I walked from the kitchen, I could see who the guest was that my Mom and Dad were talking about. I was surprised to see the senior student who helped me last week. What is he doing here? Wait? This means that he is the son who is said to be a guest of my Mom and Dad. My fiance will be?

What a small world.

As I got closer, my heart beat faster. Shit. Why am I nervous? It's just him. I just met him a lot of times and I already talked to him too.

But why am I acting nervous now?

"Yes Dad."

I answered as soon as I got close to them. They all turned around when I spoke. While the senior man stared hard. Why is he staring like that? I already met him.

This is not the first time.

"You have a beautiful daughter Mr. Hernandez."

The female guest of my Mom and Dad said happily while smiling that I was sure that he’s the Mom of that senior student. I suddenly felt shy because I'm not used to compliments given by the other people. 

"Allysa, this is Mr. and Mrs. Enriquez.

We already met them at business gatherings."

So that’s why their faces are familiar to me. I smiled at them in response.

"And this is Dave Arkiel. Their only son."

Introduced by his Dad.

So his name is Dave Arkiel. I didn't even ask him when he helped me.

He immediately stood up and extended his hand to me.

I reached for it while smiling so they wouldn't notice that I was nervous. My chest drummed really hard when I held his hand.

What's wrong with me? I'm not like this before. I met a lot of guys that were also introduced by my parents, but never in my life have I experienced this kind of nervousness.

I mean this one is different.
