Chapter 75- Elnora POV
I can hear Lawler and Theo screaming. It takes me a few moments to regain my sight through the blanket of pain. My arm is torn and bleeding profusely. The creature that did this to me looks much like an upright Labrador retriever with fangs and long talons for fingers. It is advancing on the two of them, and I realize I am the only one who can stop it. I am already injured severely and if I go out protecting them, so be it. Struggling up onto my feet, I can feel my blood loss instantly. I grab a large stick and hold it out in the direction of the creature. “No! Down boy!” I demand. Immediately it turns around, and I have its attention. “Go!” I bark at it again. It lunges at me, and I quickly move from its grip.
“You need to go. Go home. Go on now before I have to hurt you.” I am stern with my words, much like telling a stray to go away;
Chapter 76- Elnora POV“What do you mean one saved your life once?” I demand from him, and my crying automatically subsides. “Just as it sounds. Something bad had happened, one of the vampires was attacking me, and it came out and protected me from the vampire.” “So, what is it? A werewolf or something?” “No, nothing like that. They are really just a different breed of dog.” “That is not a breed of dog.” I decline his answer immediately. There is no way that creature was a breed of dog. “Maybe not at home, but here it is. What we once knew about the world has changed drastically already.” “We will talk about this more later.” I insist. He is confident in his words, and it makes me proud beyond measures. “Here we are,” Lawler announces as he returns to the room. “Oh, hello, boys. Did we wake you when w
Chapter 77- Elnora POV“Our Kingdom has been breached.” As expected, they gasp and look at each other, horrified. “We have locked down the Kingdom, and we have swept the Kingdom for anyone who doesn’t belong here. What is more, they took Sebastian.” “What can we do to help?” Hildi asks, stepping forward and giving me the box that I knew was coffee. “I have a plan, and I need your help.” “Anything.” They all mumble. “Once I tell you the plan, I need you to tell me how you would get around it. We need to make sure that there are no loopholes or voids in my plan.” “You want us to tell you what is wrong with your plan?” Leon asks, walking onto the porch with Theo and another man I have not met yet. “Yes, exactly, Leon. I need to know where in my plan others can get through. If you can get through, they can get through. I need you to help me fix this plan so we don’t
Chapter 78- Lawler POVElnora has been explaining her plan in precise detail for the past two hours. My head is beginning to spin from what she has planned. So many steps will need to be taken to insure that it is pulled off, but it looks like it will work. We will be able to save more than just Sabastian. “I am going to make some lunch for everyone. I will be back in a few moments.” I announce to get away and take a pause for a few moments. Never would I have thought that I would be planning the Kingdom’s next move with many townspeople. It is, without a doubt, my biggest mistake that I never knew that I had made. The people who live here love the Kingdom as much, if not more than I do. They are excellent at finding loopholes and assisting in ideas on helping make Elnora’s plan stronger. “Hey, do you have a mo
Chapter 79- Elnora POV“Thank you, everyone, for coming and helping us with this. You do not know how much it means to me that you allowed me to take you away from your daily activities. I will make it up to you all in some way.” I am so happy for such a wonderful group of people to be in my life at this moment. “You do not need to make it up to us. This is our home, and you are our Queen. We are honored to help whenever we can.” The young mom that had no babysitter I have learned her name is Lucy, and she is expecting her third child. A mom of three just like me. I see myself in her, and I am determined to help her in any way that I can.“Thank you, Lucy. I am honored to be your Queen and your friend.” I hug her goodbye and watch as she and the rest of the extras walk off the patio. “Oh, Hildi?” I call Hildi back momentarily. “Yes, Dear?” “Would it be ok if I stopped by later?” “You are alwa
Chapter 80- Elnora POV“I will always help family.” What does she mean? Before I have time to ask her what she means, I hear Lawler speaking to her. “We will wait for you to grab your belongings. You are welcome to stay the night if you so wish in case the afternoon gets away from you. It isn’t safe in the woods right now.” “Thank you for the kindness. I will be right back.” She gives him a slight bow in recognition of his status and walks away.As she walks to her house, I move to the stream and let my hand run over the water. “Are you ok?” Lawler asks me. “She said family, Lawler. Is she, my family?” I cannot look at him. I do not want to see the truth before he speaks it. “I don’t know. I didn’t move past your bloodline, but I will happily look into it and see if she is related to you if you desire.” “I need to know if I have any family.” “I will
Chapter 81- Elnora POV“There is no way you are my sister.” I can feel myself starting to panic. “You are my half-sister, that is. Sister, all the same.” “There is no way.” “There is. Let me show you a picture. Hang on.” I watch her impatiently as she rummages through her bag to retrieve what she is looking for. She pulls out a leather journal and opens it to the middle. Carefully taking a picture out, she looks at it, sighs, and hands it to me. “This picture was taken before they both died. It is my parents and me.” Her sadness radiates through me as I take the picture.My eyes absorb the picture and the smile on my father’s face. “He cheated on my mom,” I whisper as tears swell in my eyes. “It wasn’t like that.” “Can you explain it then?” “When you were three, your parents broke up for a year. Were you ever told that?” “Yes,&rdqu
Chapter 82- Elnora POV“When did I turn into a vampire?” She repeats my, thinks for a few moments, and then continues. “When I was 18, I told my mom that I wished to turn. I knew deep in my soul that I wanted to be a vampire and not a human for the rest of my life. I know it seems selfish, but I wanted to live a long life.” “Never think that something you wish for yourself is selfish. It is what you wanted, so you did it.” “Thank you for saying that, even if you may not fully believe it yourself just yet.” “Everyone deserves to live the life that they find is best for them. You chose to be a vampire, and you do not need to defend your decision with me. Come one, look at what I did.” I laugh. “I went and marked the King. I am going to be turned within the year.” “You did choose a hard position and not one that I envy.” Her words make me smile. “Hard position or not, I will do it. I just n
Chapter 83- Elnora POV“What does the prophecy say?” “I need to speak to Theo.” She pushes past me to walk towards the steps. “Harmony, please tell me what the prophecy says.” I plead. “Not until I speak to Theo.” She states, turning around and walking down the stairs. “Actually.” She stops mid-step and turns back to me. “Contact the King. He needs to be a part of this conversation. I will meet you in the kitchen with Theo.” In a flash, she is gone. “Hey, love?” I mind link with Lawler heading upstairs to our bedroom. “Yes, my dear?” “What is this prophecy about that Harmony just freaked out about and ran off to find Theo?” As I press the question into his mind, I can feel a wave of nervousness come back in my direction in the wake of his response. “So, it is serious then? I am going upstairs to get cha
