Alexander opened his mouth to respond but before he could get a word out, he caught a whiff of the room's smell; he turned his back to the body on the bed and tried to control his breathing, placing his hand against his nose and trying to only breath in the smell of his hand. After recovering from his shock, Alexander once again registered the smell of a decaying body. He pushed himself up from the ground with help of the wall, but as he suddenly stood up, he felt light-headed and disoriented with his surroundings for a moment.
