16- Dating Advice from Dad.

Liam’s POV

“Hey, son,” Dad is making Thursday night dinner for Mom. It’s their traditional date night. Dad cooks, takes dinner to mom in their room and we don’t see them till morning, a tradition I intend to take to Blue Mountain. “Want to learn a great date night meal?”

“Sure, whatcha got?” I say, joining him at the island.

“Okay, shrimp stir-fry. Easy on the stomach, not gassy, always important, good source of carbs, and I happen to know your mate loves it, as much as your mother.” He smiles at me. I laugh.

He sets me to cutting up peppers and snap beans. We talk about business and pack management. He gives me instructions on how to cook rice correctly. Apparently, there is a wrong way to boil rice. We are laughing and he is adding soy sauce to the mix, when Nic comes in.

“Hey, son, we made enough for an army, want some?” Dad asks.

“I smelled it, it smells great,” he had a touch of sadness in his voice.
