Chapter 2

The newlywed couple sat back in the car. Amy looked at Shawn nervously and thanked him for marrying her. She said that he should let her know if he needed anything from her in return. She had only two simple requests for him.

"What are they?" Shawn responded tiredly, loosening his collar. He thought, "She's no different from the other girls I've been with."

"First," Amy said, "unless you have no choice, please don't reveal our relationship to the public just yet. Second, I would appreciate it if you didn't interfere with my matters. But don't worry, I have no plans to cheat on you or have another relationship while we're married. I hate cheaters!"

Shawn was surprised by her requests. He had thought she was going to ask for material things or money. He smiled and said, "I promise I can give you those two things. But after six months, I want to announce our marriage to the public."

Amy nodded in agreement. Shawn continued, "I don't believe that a married couple should live separately. That's why I'm giving you a few days to pack your things and move in with me. My assistant, Allen, will contact you to help you move your things."

Amy had no objections and nodded her head in agreement.

After finishing their conversation, Amy got out of Shawn's car and walked towards her car. But before she could get inside, Kevin called her.

"Amy, where are you?" he asked urgently, without even checking if she was alright.

"I'm home," she lied and asked, "Why?"

"Laura has an important jewelry endorsement event tonight, and I want you to take her place. She can't attend due to her injury, and I need you to secure her position as the spokesperson," Kevin explained.

Is this how things are going to be? Am I going to agree with everything he says and does without questioning him? Amy thought to herself in disappointment. She then asked Kevin if Laura got injured on stage.

"I already asked the makeup artist to prepare a mask for you to cover your face; there is no way anyone will find out!" Kevin said, altogether avoiding her question.

"Amy, this is the last time I'm asking you a favor. Since we're about to get married soon, it's normal for us to help each other in this situation. The success of this show is also a big shot in my career. I promise I won't let you do this again when we get married. This endorsement is crucial in Laura's career, "he said.

"After a moment of silence, she gave in and said, Okay, this is the last time I'm helping Laura, and I'm doing this because of you. Because of you, I'll do it. Could you send me the details and address, and I'll go to the venue?

Kevin, you are so shameless. Just wait and see, and I'll ensure you lose everything you've worked so hard for. she thought

"Let's just have dinner tonight after this. she said.

"He excitedly said, Okay, I'll send it to you immediately, Amy. Thank you so much, I promise. After this, I will take a leave for one month, after our wedding. He said,

"You're too late; I'm already married," and my husband is the most powerful man in this industry, "she thought with a smile.

After the call hung up, Amy started her car and drove away; she didn't realize that her husband was still there watching her as she disappeared in the other corner of the road. In Shawn's car, Allen sat in the driver's seat, looked at his boss in the sideview mirror, and asked,

"Sir, would you like to return to the mansion and give your family the good news? Or will we go back to the office?

"No! Shawn said this to his assistant. I want you to follow Amy and report her every move. he orders. And step out of the car.

Of course, as the CEO of one of the biggest and most famous entertainment companies in New York, he had heard Amy's name before since she was once an international model, but he never had the chance to talk to her personally. That's why he wants to ensure she is worth having as his wife. He thought.

"After he stepped out of the car, he chose a car that wasn't fancy enough so that people wouldn't notice him; because of his status, he needed to be careful too. Often in disguise when he was in public. He silently followed Amy to her home, patiently waiting inside his car. He grabs his phone in his pocket and searches for Amy's name, and he finds out that she was once the most famous international model who suddenly retired from the entertainment industry to pursue her relationship with Kevin Garcia, the CEO of Blue Sky Entertainment. She's quite interesting, huh?" He thought with a smile on his face.

Amy's journey has only just begun. For years, she had been blindly following Kevin, unaware that she was nothing more than a pawn in their game of manipulation. She now sees that it was all a waste of time and energy, but she is determined not to let it hold her back.

The night before her wedding, Amy discovered that her fiancé, Kevin Garcia, was unfaithful to her. Her world shattered into a million pieces. In the end, it all worked out for the best. Amy married one of the most powerful men in the entertainment industry, Mr. Shawn Lee. She feels grateful for the second chance she was given and is determined to make the most of it. She knows that the road ahead won't be easy, but she's ready to face whatever challenges come her way.

After a moment of hesitation, Amy reaches for her phone from her pocket and dials Lucy, her manager's number.

"Hi Lucy, Kevin called me a while ago and asked me to fill in for Laura's spot on tonight's show," Amy says, hoping that Lucy would approve.

"Is he out of his mind?" Lucy shouted on the other line. "Amy, please don't tell me you agreed to that," Lucy asked with a questioning tone.

"It's okay, Lucy. I already said yes," Amy replied, trying to calm Lucy down.

"Are you really going to do this, Amy? I don't think it's a good idea," Lucy asked with a disapproving tone.

"Don't worry, I won't be stupid anymore," Amy said, trying to convince Lucy that she had everything under control.

"Hmm, based on the tone of your voice, I can tell that you're planning something, aren't you?" Lucy asked, sensing that there was more to the situation than Amy was letting on.

"Lucy, can I ask you for a favor?" Amy asked, looking hesitant.

"Of course, what do you need help with?" Lucy responded, sensing Amy's unease.

"Can you help me gather some evidence?" Amy finally asked.

Lucy looked surprised. "Oh, Amy, are you trying to expose them?" she asked, her voice low.

Amy shook her head. "No, it's not like that," she replied quickly. "I just need some proof of what's going on."

Lucy's brow furrowed in concern. "What's going on?" she asked, her tone gentle.

"Laura is still lying in her hospital bed, pretending to be ill and the main issue is. Laura is pregnant and Kevin is the father of her child," Amy said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Lucy's eyes widened in shock. "What? I had no idea," she said, clearly taken aback.

"I know," Amy said, nodding. "It's a complicated situation, and I don't want to cause any drama for now. But I need your help to keep this information private at the moment.

"I understand," Lucy said, her voice kind and reassuring. "You can count on me to help you in any way I can."

 Lucy was taken aback for a moment but quickly grasped the situation. She could sense the frustration in Amy's voice as she spoke on the phone. "They're so shameless," Lucy thought to herself. "They've been exploiting Amy's skills and abilities repeatedly, and now this! They're planning to use her as a pawn in their game."

"Don't worry, Amy. You can count on me. Let me handle this matter. All you have to do now is play your part as planned," Lucy said reassuringly.

"Thank you, Lucy. For now, you're the only one I can trust," replied Amy before hanging up.

Amy quickly gathered her belongings, grabbed her car keys, and drove to the venue that Kevin had sent her earlier. She was determined to expose the truth about what was going on behind the scenes.Upon arrival, Laura's assistant, Ivan, was anxiously waiting for her.

"What took you so long? I've been waiting for almost half an hour," he said impatiently.

Amy took a deep breath and tried to remain calm. "I'm sorry, Ivan. There was some traffic on the way. I'm ready to get my makeup done now," she said politely.

As she sat in front of the mirror, Amy couldn't help but feel nervous. She knew that this was a risky move, but she was determined to do whatever it took to put an end to their manipulative ways.

"The show is about to start. Laura is doing great at her work, thanks to my effort," Ivan said proudly. "She has her own team to assist her with anything she needs every time she has an event like this, but now the times are reversed, and Amy is planning to expose herself on stage."

Amy took a deep breath and tried to focus on the task at hand. She knew that she had a tough road ahead of her, but with Lucy's help, she was confident that she could succeed.

 As Ivan and Amy stood in front of the grand hall, they talked about the upcoming show. Amy was curious to know what kind of show it was.

"Ahh, Ivan, what kind of show is this?" she asked innocently, suppressing the fact that she already knew what it was for.

"It's nothing special; it's just a simple jewelry show. All you need to do is represent their jewelry on the stage," Ivan replied with a smile.

Amy sighed and muttered, "Nothing special," under her breath. But, in reality, this was far from an ordinary event. But this show was a chance for Amy to showcase her talent and impress everyone. If everything went well, Laura would sign JK Jewelry as their spokesperson after the show. Amy sighed in disappointment, wondering if she was really that naive.
