Comforting
Drake hugs Nyra into his embrace to comfort her. Nyra hugs him back while her body is shaking with the intensity of her sobs.
Drake did not offer any words to comfort her apart from being there for her. He can understand being abandoned by the one who should be protecting her.
He knows his words cannot dull the pain of being left alone with no one to rely on. So he is not intending to comfort her with false hope.
Even if he is willing, what can he say to comfort her?
'Everything will be alright? He knows it's an empty promise. Her pain of being ignored by her own father might dull over time, but it will never go away fully', Drake thought.
After some time, Nyra stopped crying, but she didn't let go of Drake. Her occasional hiccups are the only sound to be heard in the room.
