Channon’s POV

This can’t be it. Surely I would have seen her death in a vision of some kind. What use is this power of mine if it cannot save the ones I love. To lose her before getting to even know her is too much for my soul to cope with. I power through the forest as fast as my weakened legs will carry me. ‘Hurry Channon. I think she is dying.’ My world is on the brink of collapse and a fear like I have never experienced takes hold of me in a vice like grip. Ophelia is behind me with her medicines but she is older and larger so I still outpace her even now. The forest is silent, all I can hear is my own blood pumping around my body and the thumping of my heart. ‘Keeva, I’m coming.’ I shout in to her head.
