Chapter 48

Megan refused to sleep until Alex cuddled her, in less than twenty minutes she fell asleep and Alex separated his body from her with great difficulty.

He sat on the couch facing Megan as he watched her sleep, she looked so peaceful and innocent, Alex clicked his tongue while shaking his head .

"Vixen " Alex muttered, referring to Megan, she was truly a difficult case.

He ordered a bottle of wine to calm himself when he received a call from one of his men.

"Why are you calling at this hour?" Alex requested as he poured out a glass of wine for himself.

"Boss, there is something urgent you need to know," the voice answered.

"Urgent? What is it?" Alex questioned.

"It's Megan's boss, she is trying to investigate the whereabouts of Hailey and she is almost close to finding her," the man reported.

"What do you mean almost? Are you trying to give her access then?" Alex threw back.

"No boss, but what do we do?" The man asked dumbly
