15: The ex and the truth

"Fuck Byron is here". I mutter, as I see him sitting in the hallway, leaning against the door to my hotel room ... I would recognise him anywhere.

Theo puts a reassuring hand on my arm. "Let me talk to him first, explain it all".

It has been almost three hours since Byron left the party angry, his girlfriend in tow. Theo had insisted that we stayed a couple of hours before leaving, not to draw attention.

He has behaved perfectly for the rest of the evening, we have been talking and dancing as friends and I have enjoyed his company. When we left I realised my phone was out of battery and I don't know if Byron has tried to contact me.
