Chapter 47: Justice Committee

A man walked through the thick forest. Wearing a long brown coat and a hat, his only source of light was the moon. He squinted his eyes to see properly. The wheel of his carriage had come off a few miles away, and he was looking for a way to fix it. He knew that the possibility of him finding someone out here was very slim. So he thought that he could find something that could help him here in the forest.

His boots made muddy prints in the wet soil of the forest. It had rained severally yesterday. He picked up some logs of wood, wondering what he could do with them.

After picking logs for a while, reality finally dawned on him. He might just spend the night on the road. There was no way he could fix his carriage. He dropped the logs back onto the wet ground. He could see something sticking up from the soil. Curious, he squatted to investigate. Although he couldn't see clearly, but he could perfectly see what it was. It was a finger! He swallowed a hard lump.
