Chapter 52: The trader

When I stepped out of the palace, it was late in the afternoon. I wondered if we could arrive before dusk. I felt a presence beside me, and a voice said.

"Are you ready?" I heard the king say. I turned to face him. I gave him a small nod. Walking down the steps, I followed slowly behind the king. I realized that Sir George wasn't here. 'Wasn't he supposed to be coming with us?'

George won't be coming with us." I nodded. "We are heading to Eastway village, that's where I met her." I said softly. Alexander hummed and told the rider.

I sat stiffly in my seat. I really hope that we find the woman. I heard some of the maids talking about Martha. She questioned the maids, if any of them had gone to Lukehall these past days. That meant that the king has already inquired from Martha. But no maid has left the palace for another kingdom without permission. Finding the woman was my only hope, Lisa's only hope.
