chapter 2 The mysterious girl

The trip to Ohio is Sekora’s favorite trip because of the sites like the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the McKinley monument, and the Hall of Fame Bridge. She woke up at 6:00, so she can get dressed for the five hour trip. She wore a green shirt and black jeans. Her brother was still asleep and doesn’t like the trip well, until he sees Kendrick’s who he has a crush on.

“Get up Gordon, we have to get ready for the trip.” Said Sekora tapping Gordon then began ruffling his hair.

“Trip where?” asked Gordon sleepily, putting his pillow over his face.

“To Ohio of course.” Said Sekora, walking to Gordon’s door.

“Oh OK!” Gordon exclaimed, then shot up like a rocket and threw on a blue polo shirt and tan pants. You see he has a crush on a girl named Kendrick’s, who lives in Ohio.

Then after getting dressed, Sekora turned on the news as she always does and what she heard shocked her. Breaking News, a pod is falling towards earth at speeds of 120 Miles Per Hour and could land at 4:00p.m. We have John Taylor standing in Ohio with the story.

“Yes Josh, the pod is possibly from exploded shuttle and could land some where close to Indiana later this afternoon.” Said john with an expressive look on his

Then her parents came down stair along with Gordon to make breakfast and she told them what she’d heard.

“Oh Sekora don’t worry about it, the wedding won’t be affected.” Said her dad reassuringly.

“What if it is, we can’t go?” Sekora pressed on with her hands outstretched.

“We are going to go and that’s final!” said her father irritably.

So after breakfast, which consisted of bacon, eggs and rice the family packed up and loaded into the car for their two week trip in Ohio. The Taru family did lots of things to pass time, like play the license plate game, which Jamie won. They also sang songs and talked about different things like school. With two hours left and the kids asleep, the parents finally got a chance to talk.

“I think you were a little hard on Sekora.” Said Jamie, looking at James Skeptically.

“Well maybe I was just in a rush.” He said taking a deep breath.

“Even so, you should say sorry when she wakes up.” She said reaching over and patting him on the back.

“OK.” He said finally while stopped at a stop light.

The family finally made it to Ohio and stopped at Denys for some food. Jamie awoke the kids and they picked their respective tables. Sekora sat a table alone with her father and he began to talk to her.

“Sweetie I’m sorry for blowing up on you earlier, I was just stressed with this trip and work you know.” He said, patting her on the shoulder.

“That’s oK, I probably came on a little strong.” Said Sekora after taking a drink of Orange juice.

“Is there really a pod that is going to hit close to Indiana?” James asked Sekora, who was now eating a waffle.

“Oh yes, I heard on the news that it was suppose to hit at four this afternoon.” Sekora replied swallowing her food.

“That’s when we’ll be at the beach, so we’ll just have to be on high alert.” Said her father, who was now getting ready to go.

So after leaving Denys, the family went their Cousin Tara’s house to drop their stuff off. She was there in Ohio because she was getting married to Sean, who lived and had a job there. Tara was a short blonde girl, who loves race cars whereas Sean was tall with brown hair and loved to ride motorcycles.

It was 1:00 and the guests started to arrive, Tara and Sean didn’t want a big wedding, so they were having it at their home. They didn’t want to have it at a church because it would cost too munch money, so they decided to have it outside. Some of the guests that came in were Sekora’s uncle John and Aunt Lizzie, Niece Abigail and Cousins Miguel and Brian. The outside area looked really nice with pink cloth tables, a red carpet leading to white pillars, plus it had a stage and Sekora’s cousin Adrian, who is a minister married them.

After the wedding, all of the family went to the beach to have the reception and the picnic. They had chicken, potato salad, bread, green beans, and fruit salad. While the grown-ups were laughing and talking the kids went swimming, before then Sekora told her dad the pod was coming and he turned on his portable radio.

“Breaking news, the pod is five minutes from hitting Earth and landing somewhere close Indiana, this is Mary Swarez reporting.” Said the reporter, who’s voice was blaring through the speakers. Today’s breeze was nice, calm and cool making small waves in the beautiful blue water. As hot as the sun was, it made the sand beneath everyone’s feet burn, but it also made the water warm.

Sekora was in the water for about two minutes, when there was loud KABOOM sending water splashing over the beach, kids running and crying and parents also screaming and running. Sekora ran to see where the sound came from. Remember she is a really fast swimmer, so she was over to the spot within a few minutes of hearing it. Gordon followed her and he was actually able to keep up with her. That’s when they saw it, the pod. The pod was a white metal spherical object that had many strange symbols and slits that slid away if opened.

“That’s the pod!” screamed Sekora excitedly pointing to the sphere sitting before her.

“Really, what do you think is inside it?” asked Gordon looking intently.

Just then, the compartments of the pod slid away a and a tall lady, with blue hair, blue eyes, wearing a white dress stepped out of the pod carrying a blue necklace that looked like the Heart of Kandracar from the television show Witch. The breeze stopped, the waves stopped, people stopped everything was at a complete stand still. Sekora was terrified as the lady came closer.

“What the hell is going on.” Sekora asked herself sweating profusely.

“Hello Sekora, my name is Dejon Dordez and this is yours.” She said, levitating the necklace to a very shocked and excited Sekora. The necklace was a blue ball with two small bars on two sides with a cone on top and a cone attached to the bottom and the right hand bar. The chain that hanging off the top was silver.

“How do you know my name and what am I suppose to do with this?” Asked Sekora, catching the necklace in her hand.

“You have been chosen as the new Sword Keeper and your mission is to find the Magical items known as the Seven swords.” Said Dejon as she stared intently at Sekora.

“Chosen for what, what, swords, what are you talking about?” asked Sekora looking perplexed, mouth gapped open.

“All in do time.” Said Dejon, then she disappeared and everything was back to normal.

The parents came over to Sekora and started hug her and said how scared they were for her and the rest of the children.

“What happened and where did you get your new necklace?” asked her step mother examining the necklace in sekora’s hand.

“I found it in the sand, next to some seashells.” Said Sekora placing the necklace around her neck.

“well now aren’t you lucky?”

“I guess so.” Sekora replied splashing Gordon with some water.

She showed the necklace to her friends and family then everyone ate and went swimming once again.
