Chapter 5

Adriana's pov

After showing the gate officer the token, he nodded and gestured for me to pass.

I immediately started walking away and put a measurable gap between I and the officers but It didn't take long until I heard a officer from another team go to the gate officer and say.

"I saw Miss Rose enter the mansion a while ago, so who is that in her hoodie?"

I slowly turned back to look at the gate officer and at the same time, the wind blew violently, moving the hoodie cap from my hair causing it to fall down my back.

My eyes widened at the officers at the gate and they stared at me, in shock that they'd let a fake go.

"Hey you!"

"Come back!"

They immediately shifted into their wolves and started to chase after me. But due to my pregnancy, I couldn't shift least I hurt the little one inside of me so I just ran as far as my feet could take me.

From paths to paths, I ran until my legs were begining to become stiff and my body muscles were begining to ache.

But as I saw a group of horse riding in my direction from the near distance, i felt as though a glimpse of a silver lining opportunity had just appeared.

I immediately ran forward to the decorated white horse with a carriage in hopes that the man riding it was their leader. And it seemed to be, because as I approached, the men around him immediately moved to the front in an antagonist manner.

"Get lost! Lady!"

"I beg you," I shouted loudly so they could hear me in spite of my tiredness and out of breath sounds, "Please help me! Some men chase after me, and I can't fight them, for I am a weak and feeble woman." I said the last part quietly.

"Stay back, don't intimidate the beautiful young lady."

A man in a green robe paired with white trousers underneath, along with white boots stepped out of the carriage with a handfan in his hand, fanning his tanned face.

He was strikingly beautiful— Or he had attractive male features. Green eyes, dirty brown hair and a figure of a warrior. My breath hitched in my throat as soon as I saw him, and he gave me a wide smile in return.

"What is your name, young lady?" He asked and I hesitated to tell him.

Noticing this, he said, "I'll go first, my name is Lane Lockwood and I am the Alpha of green piercing moon."

My jaw almost dropped to the floor.

"I don't know the details but it seems you need to escape some people and at this point I'm the only one that can help you."

I swallowed, knowing he was right. I temporarily did not care about the risk as long as I could escape the officers from the Marshall mansion.

"My name is Adriana," I said, "Adriana Maya,"

Lane smiled at me, showing his deep dimple, and my cheeks turned a pink shade in embarrassment.

"Well then, Adriana, would you be willing to join me, Lane Lockwood for an adventure?"

As the wind blew my hair to the side, I sighed, "Yes."

He then stretched his hand towards me and I walked over towards him and grabbed it. It was at that moment I heard the sounds of struggling werewolves.

"Where is she?"

"Get in," Lane said tropically. "On the table you'll see a neatly sewn dress. It was supposed to be a gift for a friend but you can have it.

I did as he told and got into the carriage and like he said, there was indeed a dress on the table.

As the curtains to the carriage close, I started to undress.

Outside the carriage, I heard the officers from the Marshall mansion ask.

"Sir, have you seen a young lady between the height of five seven or five eight?"

"No," Lane said without hesitation.

"If you're saying the truth then let us search your carriage."

By this time I was without clothes so of course I froze, waiting for Lane to rat me out, but the moment never came fast enough.

"No," he said and I unconsciously let out a sigh of relief before proceeding to put on the dress on the table which consisted of a caftan and a scarf to cover my face, starting from the bridge of my nose.

"Guys let's search this guy's carriage immediately!" The gate officer from Marshall mansion said, and I heard Lane's men on their horses move forward.

"Who among you dares? I am Lane Lockwood, the Alpha of green piercing moon."

And that was all it took for the officers to shiver and retreat in fear.

Tristan pov

"Master you're back!"

"Alpha!"

I was bombarded by greetings from both my Steward and men I left in charge of Fountain light but that didn't matter to me right now.

I passed the harem out of habit just so I could catch a whiff of my mate but for some reason, I found it was empty. My heart felt uneasy at this but I calmed myself and turned around to my Steward.

"Maxon, you're in charge of the affairs in the harem. Is there anything I should be informed about?"

Maxon's eyes shifted to the ground, "W-well there is one, but you shouldn't worry about it. The assigned officers will bring her back in no time."

My heart skipped a beat. "Who is missing?"

Just then, an informat ran in anxiously.

"Sir Max! Sir Max! The officers we sent to bring back Adriana have unfortunately been unable to…" Upon noticing my presence, the informat fell to his knees and bowed his head. "Alpha," he said in a submissive tone.

But at this pace, nothing could appease my anger. My mate was gone.

"Speak," my voice thundered like lightening, and all I could see now was red.

"T-the officers reported that Adriana was last seen at the end of the border. They claim the Alpha of green piercing moon protected her so they couldn't take her."

My mood darkened.

How dare a mere Alpha lay ownership on my mate when I was the King of all seven packs?

"Alpha," Maxon said curtly, "You shouldn't be angry, it was a mere slave who left the mansion due to ingratitude. If you want, I can get you nine more obedient slaves."

"Nine obedient slaves won't cut it!" I said through gritted teeth. "Adriana is my mate and I'll do everything to get her back even if it means sacrificing the others!"

Maxon fell to his knees in shock.

"Your majesty! I did not know!"

With regret I said, "I deliberately neglected her so I could focus on the common good but I'm no longer going to do that. I'll bring her back home. Someone call Vivon, my Beta."

"I'll do as you wish, Alpha king." The informat said and I nodded before he dashed off.

Not long after, Vivon arrived with a pained look on his face. He seemed to have learned everything through the informat.

Vivon got on half a knee, "I've failed you, Alpha."

I simply lifted Vivon up with a arm and looked him in the eye with a grin, "Be of good cheer, my Beta for I will bring back my mate home to where she belongs."

Vivon's eyes brightened upon seeing my expression. "Then how many men should I bring along?"

I shook my head and placed a hand on his shoulder. "No. This time, I'll go myself and bring her home, I owe her that much— But you Vivon, must look after fountain Light. Postpone help to the other packs until my arrival."

"Yes, your majesty." Vivon got on a knee and I patted his shoulder before walking away.

I'm coming Adriana, my mate. Just you wait for me.
