King Patrick's POV
-------------------------------------------------------------------My fingers trail slowly towards the sharp edge of the dagger as I sat in the dark luxurious room the King of Windfall had been so kind to prepare for me.I cared nothing about the beauty and riches of the room. In fact, I was annoyed that I would have to waste two weeks of my time in Windfall for a ridiculous story given by the king about a lost princess.
I was no fool and once my two weeks time elapses, I would show the king that I am not someone to be messed with.
The doors of the room open and Maurice my right hand walked in still dressed in his robes from earlier.
He bowed in respect before saying. "Your majesty I have some really important information about the princess Melissa"
I was completely uninterested in the life of princess Melissa. No woman was good enough to be my queen and although I want to have her as my wife, she would never become my Queen. She just wasn't good enough. No woman will ever be.
"She is eighteen years of age just the perfect age for marriage and she had been promised to prince David of the Rault kingdom since when she was thirteen. The marriage had been scheduled to be in a few months. But I find out some really interesting news" he went on knowing that there will be absolutely no reaction from me. "I heard that the princess might have some sort of secret feelings for the general"
I stopped tracing my fingers on my dagger as I recall the man. General George, one of the very famous swordsman and strongest general in all the world.
Windfall had lived in harmony for a long time due to the power the young general posses and I couldn't help but admire him for that a bit, but he was no match for me or my kingdom, I would easily sweep away the entire Windfall kingdom with just a snap of my fingers. Not even their all so powerful general can save them when they go against me.
"I am not surprised" my cold voice replied him "The princess seem to be okay with whoever she marries as long as she becomes Queen" I recall the look of pure fascination she threw my way when I walked into the royal court. My being was shaking with anger and disgust at the pure look of interest in her eyes. She did not seem to be in love with prince David because she did not say anything in defense when he proclaimed her as his betroth.
She was not at all worthy to rule by my side. In her eyes I could see how much of a snake she really was. Behind that innocent eyes was a thirst for power and fame that I have come across in most occasions. It was disgusting.
Nevertheless an agreement was made. Its either I marry her or war might arise within my Kingdom. A traitor was already anxious to throw me out of my throne because I could not guarantee an heir. This will be my first step in finding out who the snake in my palace is. If I have a queen by my side, the traitor would have no choice but to use other method to get rid of me and knowing how stupid they are they may think that the future queen will be the key to their plans. They plan to use her as a weapon against me. The weakness that they thought she will become to me. But they have no idea that she is nothing but a bait in the game. They could kill her for all I care.
"Have you found out what king Collins plans to do now?"
Maurice bowed apologetically. "The kings intention has not yet been exposed but I did find out that he sent his general and Prince David to the east kingdom of Windfall although I had no idea what they intend to do there"
Whatever plans King Collins might have was not really my problem. The reason I threatened him with war was to convince my enemies that I am indeed serious about princess Melissa. It would convince them more that she can be used as the weakness they always wanted me to have. After all no man fights for what he doesn't need.
"Your Majesty shall I have someone follow them to find out their intentions?"
I dismiss his question with a wave of my hand setting the dagger on a wooden table close to me.
"Let them be Maurice" I stood up and took off my black cloak "the king is not stupid as to cause me harm in his kingdom. That would bring war. Whatever his plans are, rest assure that it is nothing against us. For now focus on watching the princess"
Maurice bow in defeat "yes your majesty"
"Also, have you got any news of Durian?"
Maurice smiled "yes, he is doing very well in the south Kingdom of Evergreen. According to him, things are getting heated between him and the king but he asked that we must not worry. His wife Elizabeth is there to help him"
I nodded, I was not worried about Durian. I just don't want him to lose his life for something so ridiculous. I still need my must trusted right hand by my side when I return to Evergreen.
"You may leave Maurice"
With one last respectful bow, Maurice walked out of my room and I proceeded to go have a welcoming bath in the inner bathroom in the chambers.
I can not wait to see what King Collins will do in this situation.
GENERAL GEORGE'S POV.----------------------------------------------I studied my opponent with a calculating look trying to predict his next move as he we circle around each other making sure our eyes remained on each other so as to not miss any of his moves. The screams of my name from the ladies were almost a distraction to me but I kept calm even though I wanted nothing more than to look over at them and wave at their beautiful faces.God I will never get tired of hearing them scream my name in praise. That is why I must focus for now so I could impress them.My opponent decided to move first and he rush at me in a lightening speed, swinging his sword in the process and I was quick to predict his move as our blades crash against each other with a loud clang.wasting no time, I attacked him. My feet connected with his chest, pushing him back away from me and I rush forward not waiting for him to recover and swung my sword. He dodged my attack and immediately slide his blade but I s
PRINCE DAVID POV--------------------------------------------------------------------I stood among the palace official in the royal court with my eyes staring in the direction of the throne.Princess Melissa sat at her seat beside her father looking as beautiful as ever. Ever since the moment I met her, I couldn't get her out of my head, she was so beautiful that I made sure she was promised to me in marriage, me and no one else.I frown in anger when my eyes took notice of general George beside the king's throne. He stood proudly in his uniform with his chest puff out and his hands on the handle of his sowrd that was stuck to his belt. He was all business with his stone expression and threatening stance. I hated him for looking so powerful. There was no doubt that princess Melissa had took noticed of his manliness and worthiness on several occasions. It always scared me to leave her all alone when returning to Rault. What if General George uses that as an opportunity to steal my bel
GENERAL GEORGE'S POV--------------------------------------------------------------------I am extremely angry. My blood was boiling with rage and my hands twitch continuously with the need to pull out my blade and separate King Patrick's head from his body. How dare he?Not only did he walk into the palace court like he owned the place and demanded that the princess be given to him, he also got the guts to threaten our kingdom with war. What insult!!!I have heard that the Evergreen kingdom has never lost a war but our kingdom has never lost one as well and I strongly believe that we have a great chance of winning if put against the Evergreen kingdom.I singlehandedly took down many nations on my own, what gives King Patrick the right to look down on us and challenge us.The bastard! We had all gathered at the king's study as he requested. I stood loyally beside the king. Prince David and princess Melissa sat on the only two available seat in the study. While David glared continuous
