Chapter Sixty Five

Naevia went through all her beautiful gifts before retiring to bed again. The drug in her system still had its effect going.

Zane left her and went to see if the maids were done preparing the soup he asked them to. He wanted Naevia to take it before going to sleep again.

On getting there, he met the maids in the kitchen, washing the dishes and juicing the pineapple for Naevia.

His eyes landed on the stove and he saw a pot on it. Pleased, he walked in to check out the soup.

The maids heard his footsteps and turned over to look. Their hearts skipped when they saw Zane. They didn't know he was already in the kitchen.

"For a second, I thought you two had abandoned what I sent you to do," Zane said, letting them know what's in his mind.

"We'll never do such sir. The soup is almost ready. We'll bring it to Mrs Ash, along with her juice," the maids said to him.

Zane listened. He stepped away from the stove and headed out of the kitchen and back to the room to stay with Naevia.
