CHAPTER FOURTY NINE

The elevator pinged open on the twentieth level of the building. The personnel went ahead of us and we followed immediately after them.

The opulent floor with its high ceiling windows and expensive chairs spoke volumes about the kind of consultations they did here.

I couldn't imagine how we left the dump we were staying in only to drive for an hour to get to this rich, busy looking city. The two places were so distinct and different yet they were so close to one another.

We went straight past the reception desk and went into the inner buildings. My eyes kept scanning the names on the doors we passed, maybe the names would help us later.

We walked past a few before we reached the door with the name of the doctor we had come to see.

The security opened the door for us and walked in. From where I stood I couldn't see the face of the doctor but I knew that the personnel was talking privately to him. They spoke for a while before he excused himself and left.
