Plucking Lives

Around his shoulder, there was trace of the warm tears. Rose couldn't hold her cries and hearing how she often tried to stifle down her tears, Dominic couldn't bear to push her into answering his questions.

He took her waist nearer to him and coaxed her to stop crying, "It's alright," he whispered, repeating the two words again and again like he never did to others before.

Rose who felt anxious and stressed easily fell asleep on his arm before she could realize. Dominic pulled her body slowly when he confirmed how she was asleep. The rim of her eyes were red, urging the anger on his heart again but he know this wasn't the time for him to entertain his ire.

At least not yet.

Pulling her body closer, Dominic settled one of his arm under her knees and the other on her back, carrying her on bridal style with his firm arm and carried her away from her room.
