Chapter 58

(Juliet’s POV)

His voice trailed behind me as loud as his footsteps did. Our eyes had locked, and I couldn’t simply ignore that. I knew he would come running after me like a drenched dog, and I wasn’t so amazed when he did just that.

My nerves broke and different feelings coursed through my veins. I could recognize both out of all of them, though. I knew the name for anger and frustration when I felt them, and I couldn’t but say they were cracking my neck up right this instant. I left everything at the seminar —the workers, the van, and the job — furiously heading down the road.

The constant call of my name on his lips, ‘Juliet’, infuriated me the most. I could swear I was feeling my skin itch out of irritation. Like, how the hell could this bastard mention my name and God wasn’t making him choke on it?
