It was now midnight judging from the watch that Trei gave us that we have yet to return. I lay on my bed and stared at the ceiling. It was a long day yesterday but I couldn’t find myself going back to bed.
My nightmares were getting worst that I would rather be awake than asleep at most nights.
I kept dreaming about throwing my past leader Falco, who is currently a turtle metahuman, towards two other metahumans that are supposed to be my comrades. In my dreams, Falco couldn’t stop himself and killed the other two by slicing them in half. The scene kept repeating itself over and over in my dream like someone kept hitting the replay button. And when it does change, it would be with Jack as an eel metahuman being thorn to shreds by Duncan, who’s in the body of a hammerhead meta. I don’t know what happened to Jack after he electrocuted
“So you guys were able to establish a bond where you could speak into each other’s minds?” Trei sounds a little skeptical. Byron and I were sitting side by side while Trei stood in front of us and giving us a skeptical look. “Does that mean that he now has the same ability as yours?” He asked me.“I wish,” Byron mumbled with a pout.I rolled my eyes at him before I responded to Trei. “Guill says we share the same soul. That should mean that we are somehow connected with each other in some form of way. And I guess that communicating with each other is one of them.” I explained to him.Trei straightened up and crossed his arms over his chest. “Fascinating. Maybe there was a purpose why the soul reincarnated into two bodies.” He mumbled as if there was s
It was the second day of traveling going to Belize. We were mostly making stops to rest the engine for going turbo the whole time. But most importantly, we were taking refresher courses on combat with Skyr.As the General says, training never stops because it is the foundation of mastery. We would even have a few water combats as well, in which Trei would join us to fight off Skyr. But it would mostly end badly for us as long as Byron won’t use his powers on the young former general of Atlantis. And to think that Skyr was using old underwater gears that were slower than the upgraded version that we used before when we were in Atlantis. But the concepts are the same. Little turbo gears would be attached to the suit that could read the bodies’ movements and fire up that turbo’s base from the movements that we make.
‘Where should we go?’ Byron asked. He swam ahead of me and drifted lazily in the water.‘Maybe we should come closer to one of the many holes and ask nearby creatures there like...I don’t know...the original plan?’ I made sure to emphasize the word plan to Byron seeing as he was asking me about the plan. Again.‘Alright. Do you need me to boost us there?’ He stopped backpedaling and turned his whole body until he was facing me.‘Maybe later when we are deeper underwater.’ I told him. ‘People might spot the currents
My body felt cold as I woke up and realized that I was still underwater. I realized that as soon as I noticed that I couldn’t use my outer voice. Everything was dark and I could barely feel my body. I tried to recall what happened but every time that I tried to think, my head would start to hurt.‘Master, you are awake.’ I moved my head to the side only to see Fleex. Well, could barely see him through my blurred vision.I blinked and squinted my eyes. ‘Fleex? Where are we? Are we moving?’ Even sending my thoughts to communicate was hurting my head that I had to wince. ‘And what happened? Where’s Byron?’
The next day, I was slightly feeling better. But my eyes, on the other hand, were still sore and sensitive that I have to keep on blinking just to moisturize them.Byron was back to his usual active self again and wouldn’t leave my side saying that it is a sibling’s duty to watch over me. I wasn’t really comfortable with having someone shadowing me as closely as Byron was doing, but I guess it’s his way of letting me know that he cares.“How are your eyes?” Skyr asked me as I laid slumped on a seat in the lobby. He stood in front of me and handed Byron and me a sandwich.“Still feels hot, but physically, my body seems to be functioning well.” I prove my point, I got up and began bouncing on my feet. “See? All better.”
“Are you sure that this is the right...cave?” My voice echoed in the dimly lit space as I fought the urge to groan. I am getting sick of caves, but these days, it’s the only thing that I could consider as shelter.Aside from the submarine that is.Whoever says that venturing out into the sea was fun, I would definitely like to meet them and make them live inside of one for a whole month. Underwater caves especially. They’re too damp and most of them smell like moss and dead fish. But who am I to complain when in the wild, caves are the best shelter there is.Though this underwater cave isn’t that bad. It was massive that it doesn’t feel cramped at all. In fact, it was big enough to host our massive submarine. And it also has enough sta
Through the blue hue that the glowworms provided, I could vaguely see the surprised expressions on Skyr and Trei’s face. And I can only assume that I was mirror the same facial expression as them. The only one who seems pretty excited about this news was Byron - as always.“That’s Momo, Kiki, and Dodo!” He exclaimed. Of course. Now I remember him mentioning having three Megalodons that he used to play with since he was a kid. To him, dangerous sea predators are just like having one of the huge breeds of dogs.I had to push Byron back because it seemed like he was going to divert the topic to something different at that moment. “Why would the Megalodons choose this place? And don’t you think that it is a little risky? People could discover that their species still exist!&rdqu
With the help of my father, Skyr was able to formulate a plan. With the ships that the Megalodons have sunk, there’s surely at least one of them that has this so-called detector that Skyr was talking about. He says that it is a special form of device that could track down fellow submarines at a certain distance. It would be really helpful if it can warn us of incoming Atlantean submarines. Of course, we all called him out that the device might work against us since it is some sort of two-way tracker in the first place. But then he brought out the fact that Byron knows his mechanics and could easily reverse engineer the code in order for the transmission to go one-way. I guess that would explain why Byron was able to sneak out easily before while we were in Atlantis. And also the reason why he was heavily guarded despite all of the technology available.
