We were back in the cave where Byron and Skyr began to work to modify the tracker for it to function as an Atlantean ship scanner.
But that wasn’t the only thing that our team managed to find. Skyr was able to find a somewhat decent mini-submarine that the Atlantean used to attack. Byron was able to gather a few spare parts to upgrade our ship. Trei and my father got a working generator and power engine to replace the busted one from our main sub. At the same time, I was able to get ourselves a tracker.
As soon as I was within range to contact the others, I went to look for Skyr first so he could remove whatever chip was in there that would allow the opposing ships to locate us.
I hunched and carried the generator as soon as Byron was finished fixing the damages and ensuring it was safe. Now, it was up t
Byron slammed his fist to the submarine’s side, making it wobble a bit from the exerted force. “Why is it that every time we think that we’re ahead, the guy always catches up!?” He grunted in his frustration.“Where is he now?” I ignored my brother’s outburst and asked the others.“The Megalodons are still blocking him, but I doubt that they’ll be able to stop him,” Skyr admitted. “Trei, how many fleets have been taken down?”“Almost a half of now from Kiki’s side. For Dodo, there’s only a quarter left. Momo is the one that’s having a problem.” Trei said.At the corner of my eyes, I saw Byron’s brow furrowed with worry. “They’re targeting him because he
“How is that guy here already?!” Byron gritted his teeth and clutched the side of his head where it hit the wall of the submarine.Another screen flashed in front of us, broadcasting the footage from the side camera. Ylgarr's submarine appeared to be in rough shape, which suggested he had a difficult time getting all the way here - t his made me concerned about Skyr and the others. What happened to them? Were they not going to stop him?I ignored all of my concerns in order to concentrate on the present circumstance. When we were struck by the collision, I unconsciously let go of the rod. Now I'm not sure where I left it.“Byron, I lost it,” I told him. Sweat dripped to the side of my face as I frantically searched for the familiar golden hilt.&l
Feeling the steady movement of the moving submarine as it traveled across the sea somehow helped to put me at ease. I slumped onto the seat of the ship as I rubbed a towel over my wet hair. It was still sticky from the saltwater, but I didn’t even feel like taking a shower, after all, that workout earlier. I mean, we barely managed to escape that accursed cave.Byron was still transfixed on the rod in his hands, spinning it around in his palms, out of the corner of my eye. Emily, Watson, and my father sat on the opposite side of the room - a weird and uneasy atmosphere surrounded the three of them. Emily and Watson were undecided about how they should react, especially since they were seated next to a metahuman.Even I wasn’t sure of what happened. All I know is that once we escaped the great blue hole, Emily and Watson were there to escort us
S-21 was the section in Atlantis that we used to stay in. And with the whole Squadron C missing, the place has been heavily tilted in terms of power. Relocation of another squadron from other sectors has been implemented. There was also a lot of disturbance on the Atlantean mainlands, where we made our escape especially now that it has been revealed that the famed General Skyr is a traitor.Panic surged, and from what I heard from Emily and Watson, everyone has to be very careful of their words. Talking about the events that happened in the mainlands of Atlantis has been banned, and people have been told to stop asking questions because Lord Ylgarr will soon reveal everything to them. But during those few weeks, a lot of the majority of the other people in the sector has been moved out and relocated in order to cater the new squadron C.
Because of the massive current that Byron summoned and assisted with the power of the rod, the ship got a little banged up. Well, not really a little. It’s more like the outer layer got bent and torn off. Nevertheless, we were forced to dock to the nearest island that we could find just to fix the ship. “Quit complaining. We wouldn’t be in this mess if it weren’t for you.” Trei grumbled as he tried to salvage whatever parts that he could from the ocean. “But it’s not entirely my fault!” Byron argued. “Who knew that I would become so powerful just because I was welding some stick!?” “You rarely think, Byron.” Skyr snapped at him. Completely pissed that he has to assist in fixing the ship again. He held the metallic plate up as Watson began to solder it in place while he was busy looking at Trei’s bluish skin.
Now that we have a destination in mind, it has become long and smooth sailing for us. Well, all except for me. I have this growing storm of anxiety deep in the pit of my stomach the closer that we got to the Mariana Trench. It was bad enough that Trei mentioned the sea monsters lurking in the depths of the ocean, but then he suggested that I should go and tame the sea king - as in, the leader of the sea monsters in the area.I was out and swimming in the water while the ship was running on autopilot. I sat on the roof of the submarine while practicing my powers by locating some strong predators. Of course, it wasn’t much of a training because I wasn’t trying to command or control them at the moment. But having to use my powers before we reach our destination somehow gives me comfort and a bit of a distraction from what was about to come.
Mariana Trench. The place that I had dreaded for a while now was finally here. We arrived at our location, and I could already feel the powerful presence of the sea monsters beneath us. I haven’t gotten in touch with them yet, but I was already starting to get overwhelmed.“You okay, sis? Do you want me to hold your hand? Or would you rather let Skyr do it?” When I turned to Byron, he chuckled at my flustered expression. “Sorry, Watson told me to use that trick if I want to get you distracted from your thoughts. Did it work?”“Yeah, and right now, all I want to do is to throw Watson out and offer him as a sacrifice for safe passage,” I said grimly.Byron’s eyes widened. As always, he was oblivious when it came to jokes, “Does that work? If it does, you aren&rsquo
‘I am in love.’ I heard Byron speaking his thoughts out to me. ‘Nathalia, do you see how beautiful this creature is?!’‘Yeah. I do. But we don’t know if it is hostile or not.’ I agreed while trying to maintain our distance from the creature when it lowered its head towards us. I couldn’t read or communicate with it, which is weird. It’s like this creature was…a blank slate. Or more like it can’t thoroughly communicate yet. ‘Byron, what are you doing?!’ I slapped his hand down the moment he tried to pet the kelpie.‘I want to touch it. Let me touch
