Because of the massive current that Byron summoned and assisted with the power of the rod, the ship got a little banged up. Well, not really a little. It’s more like the outer layer got bent and torn off. Nevertheless, we were forced to dock to the nearest island that we could find just to fix the ship.
“Quit complaining. We wouldn’t be in this mess if it weren’t for you.” Trei grumbled as he tried to salvage whatever parts that he could from the ocean.
“But it’s not entirely my fault!” Byron argued. “Who knew that I would become so powerful just because I was welding some stick!?”
“You rarely think, Byron.” Skyr snapped at him. Completely pissed that he has to assist in fixing the ship again. He held the metallic plate up as Watson began to solder it in place while he was busy looking at Trei’s bluish skin.
Now that we have a destination in mind, it has become long and smooth sailing for us. Well, all except for me. I have this growing storm of anxiety deep in the pit of my stomach the closer that we got to the Mariana Trench. It was bad enough that Trei mentioned the sea monsters lurking in the depths of the ocean, but then he suggested that I should go and tame the sea king - as in, the leader of the sea monsters in the area.I was out and swimming in the water while the ship was running on autopilot. I sat on the roof of the submarine while practicing my powers by locating some strong predators. Of course, it wasn’t much of a training because I wasn’t trying to command or control them at the moment. But having to use my powers before we reach our destination somehow gives me comfort and a bit of a distraction from what was about to come.
Mariana Trench. The place that I had dreaded for a while now was finally here. We arrived at our location, and I could already feel the powerful presence of the sea monsters beneath us. I haven’t gotten in touch with them yet, but I was already starting to get overwhelmed.“You okay, sis? Do you want me to hold your hand? Or would you rather let Skyr do it?” When I turned to Byron, he chuckled at my flustered expression. “Sorry, Watson told me to use that trick if I want to get you distracted from your thoughts. Did it work?”“Yeah, and right now, all I want to do is to throw Watson out and offer him as a sacrifice for safe passage,” I said grimly.Byron’s eyes widened. As always, he was oblivious when it came to jokes, “Does that work? If it does, you aren&rsquo
‘I am in love.’ I heard Byron speaking his thoughts out to me. ‘Nathalia, do you see how beautiful this creature is?!’‘Yeah. I do. But we don’t know if it is hostile or not.’ I agreed while trying to maintain our distance from the creature when it lowered its head towards us. I couldn’t read or communicate with it, which is weird. It’s like this creature was…a blank slate. Or more like it can’t thoroughly communicate yet. ‘Byron, what are you doing?!’ I slapped his hand down the moment he tried to pet the kelpie.‘I want to touch it. Let me touch
It took me a while to realize that the goblin shark was speaking to Peanut, and I froze. Prince? Why are they addressing Peanut as a prince? The arthropod monster extended its body, so it got closer to us, ‘Prince, your mother has been looking all over for you. She’s worried sick.’‘Nathalia? What’s going on? Why aren’t they attacking? Are you doing this?’ I could not imagine what Byron must be thinking of all of this right now.‘Honestly? I am at a loss as well because they are calling Peanut a prince.’ I told him.‘Prince? Prince of what?’
Nalu escorted Byron and I back to the ship, where we had to retreat for a while because of fear that the sea monsters would decide to attack. We were still pretty close to the Mariana Trench but at a much more shallower area that the sea monsters would not dare to cross because humans would easily spot them.“Everyone relax. Especially you, Nat.” Trei stopped his pacing so he could turn to look at me, who was currently resting my elbows on my knees while I stile to pay attention to their conversation.I looked up at my best friend, “Why me? I am perfectly relaxing.” Trei just eyed me after I said that before his gaze shifted to my right left leg that was currently dancing. “Okay, fine! But can you blame me? We were so close to getting the last piece, but we didn’t all because I made the wrong command. Now, we’re stuck h
I hastily kicked myself off of my bed and I fell on the metal floor of the submarine. I threw away the sheets and ran for my door. I did not stop until I reached the ship’s lobby. When I got there, everyone seemed to be on high alert as the alarm was blazing at us due to an incoming threat that the radar picked up.“Skyr!” He was the first person that I approached to ask about the situation. He was standing by the radar while barking orders at Trei and the others. Trei was managing the wheel while Emily and Watson were poised at the weapon system that Byron and Skyr newly configured.Speaking of my brother, where is he?My eyes began to scan my surroundings while I tried to find my sibling, but I still didn&rsq
‘Byron, go and tell Skyr that the Atlanteans are here.’ I relayed the message to him while I climbed onto the Kelpie back.‘Hold on, are you going there alone?’ Byron swam towards me like he was going to come along, but I firmly held my hand out to stop him.‘Trust me, I want to take you along, but we need to tell Skyr and the others first. With you, you and Fifi, you can greatly help out the others to get to the bottom.’‘Yeah, I can. But can you?’‘That’s why I am taking Nalu. He can help me go to his mother faster.’ My words must have finally sunk in be
As Rachel resumed her shooting, I continued to parry all her blows. Nalu wasn’t thrilled that he was within firing range that he was getting restless.‘Nalu, stay still or-’I didn’t get the chance to finish because I was suddenly tackled off of the back of the Kelpie by Rachel. I wanted to scream at her to stop, but I doubted that she would be able to understand me.I powered the booster on the boots I had stolen a while ago. My knee connected to Rachel’s rib, making her gasp in pain. I grabbed her shoulder and threw her off of me. The moment I separated myself from her, I began to realize that I no longer had any weapon left.“Don’t move, or I will shoot, Nathalia. I’m serious.” I heard Rachel s
