I hastily kicked myself off of my bed and I fell on the metal floor of the submarine. I threw away the sheets and ran for my door. I did not stop until I reached the ship’s lobby.
When I got there, everyone seemed to be on high alert as the alarm was blazing at us due to an incoming threat that the radar picked up.
“Skyr!” He was the first person that I approached to ask about the situation. He was standing by the radar while barking orders at Trei and the others. Trei was managing the wheel while Emily and Watson were poised at the weapon system that Byron and Skyr newly configured.
Speaking of my brother, where is he?
My eyes began to scan my surroundings while I tried to find my sibling, but I still didn&rsq‘Byron, go and tell Skyr that the Atlanteans are here.’ I relayed the message to him while I climbed onto the Kelpie back.‘Hold on, are you going there alone?’ Byron swam towards me like he was going to come along, but I firmly held my hand out to stop him.‘Trust me, I want to take you along, but we need to tell Skyr and the others first. With you, you and Fifi, you can greatly help out the others to get to the bottom.’‘Yeah, I can. But can you?’‘That’s why I am taking Nalu. He can help me go to his mother faster.’ My words must have finally sunk in be
As Rachel resumed her shooting, I continued to parry all her blows. Nalu wasn’t thrilled that he was within firing range that he was getting restless.‘Nalu, stay still or-’I didn’t get the chance to finish because I was suddenly tackled off of the back of the Kelpie by Rachel. I wanted to scream at her to stop, but I doubted that she would be able to understand me.I powered the booster on the boots I had stolen a while ago. My knee connected to Rachel’s rib, making her gasp in pain. I grabbed her shoulder and threw her off of me. The moment I separated myself from her, I began to realize that I no longer had any weapon left.“Don’t move, or I will shoot, Nathalia. I’m serious.” I heard Rachel s
The ringing in my ears wouldn’t stop, and everything seemed dark. I tried to use my voice, but no words came. When I began to taste seawater, I remembered where I was. I was underwater.I remember now. We were fighting the Atlanteans. I remember freeing my friends, fighting Ylgarr, getting saved by Skyr, and -I gasped and sat up in a hurry. The explosion. I remember it now. I pulled myself up and tried to feel my surroundings.‘Child, don’t move.’ As soon as I heard Urei’s voice, she began to glow. It was weak, but it was enough for me to see my surroundings. ‘You used your magic at a wide range without the help of the triton. Your body is still recovering.’
I returned to the massive dome that Urei had built with Rachel, who was meekly hiding behind me even as we arrived. She clung to like a scared little lamb, as if her life depended on it. I suppose I can't blame her for how she feels because she did pursue us for a long time. When we arrived, I noticed that, with the exception of Trei, the majority of them had a sickly expression on their faces. I went to find Byron and ask him what was going on. “Byron?”Byron looked at me and shivered. “Please. Don’t ask. Just give this to Rachel. And if she asks, don’ tell her about it.” When I looked down at his hand, I saw the blood pill that Grukren gave us before so regular humans and Atlanteans could understand sea creatures.“Don’t tell me what? And what is up with that pill?&r
“Why do we need the leviathan?”‘He’s one of the gatekeepers. The entrance to the realm that he’s is can only be opened when either a Kraken, a leviathan, or a kelpie is with you. When the Silisk was captured and the realm was created with the help of the triton, the three of us were assigned as keys to the realm.’“Well, if max is also a key, then maybe we can ask him instead?” Byron suggested, pertaining to his Kraken friend.‘I’m sorry. But last I heard, Iocules returned to the other side so he could be there to guard SIlisk in case something happens. I could ’‘Max’s real name is Iocules!?’‘Not now, By
The whole night, we traveled on Fifi’s back and trusted her that she would take us to the whereabouts of Helighor. Byron and I have been asleep for the whole night as we were trying to recover the stamina that we exhausted in the previous battle. When we woke up at dawn, we noticed that Fifi increased her speed because she was chasing and eating a shark that happened to appear within her vicinity. I would have gone back to sleep after that, but after hearing the death cry of the unfortunate shark and the chewing noises that Fifi made, it was difficult to do so. I just counted myself lucky that I did not puke after that.Byron was fortunate because he was able to fall back to sleep. I, on the other hand, busied myself by trying to assemble the pieces of the Triton that we have. It wasn’t that hard to build them. It’s just like playi
‘You should have left when you had the chance.’ Helighor, the Leviathan, said.Because of that, Fifi let out a small growl in warning for the apex predator before us. There was clearly a misunderstanding here that we were missing so I did not want Fifi to engage in a fight with the Leviathan. ‘Fifi, no. Let me handle this.’“Byron, try to loosen your hold on him,” I told my twin while keeping my gaze locked at Helighor in case he decided to attack.“Are you kidding me? Nathalia, I can’t understand the thoughts of sea creatures, but I’m pretty sure that what just happened isn’t meant for a friendly greeting.”&ld
We were riding on top of Fifi’s back when we met up with the others. I thought that we would be meeting a ship, but it turns out that it was just a huge crate of gear supplies. We mounted that box onto Fifi’s back with the help of the metahuman squadron C, who was also not happy with getting abandoned. Emily, Watson, and Rachel were the only ones who talked to us. They informed us that they were able to scavenge a few working pieces of equipment from the wreckage on the previous war. Watson was able to scavenge a couple of ships that he and Emily could use. As for Rachel, she still has her handgun that she was currently cleaning. While the others were busy talking and checking on the crate, Byron and I sat at the backmost part on Fifi’s back as we followed behind Helighor.‘So…’
