MYLO
My guards have eyes on Alpha Marcus, impatiently waiting in their vehicle to be allowed entry, but he can settle the fuck in. He’ll be there for hours.
Tayo is lurking behind the scenes and giving me updates, prepared to take action should Marcus cause a scene, but he won’t. Marcus is used to getting what he wants, but he also knows how to play the game, and in a battle between Blue River and Timber, he knows he’s the losing bet.
After four hours of making him wait, I pull Dahlia into another room while my mother is playing with Nora. She looks at me like she knows I’m about to say something she won’t like, maybe she’s hoping that I’ll tell her why we are staying in the main house, but then again maybe she already knows and isn’t saying, except the look on her face tells me she doesn’t.

Quick Author's note: I've added a note that can be seen at the end of this chapter, it contains reference for this chapter as well as a breakdown in new characters! BRIANNA “Hey!” I called out to whoever was walking through the hallway, but no one responded… typical. I let out an aggravated huff as I carried an actual tower of towels out of the Laundry room, slamming into a wall I could have sworn didn’t exist. “Uhh…” a voice sounded and I peered around the towels to see Linden’s uninterested face. “A little help would be nice,” I snapped, dumping the towels into his arms. Even at fifteen, he was quickly outgrowing me, his gorgeous curls and dimples that used to frame his face becoming lost in his sturdy jaw and stubble. “Didn’t you hear me call out?”
BRIANNA Alaric was grasping my cheek with his hand and flooding me with the warmth his scent offered before he continued, "Maybe Xander should come and Wyatt should stay." "Aww," I cooed playfully, "you need Daddy Xander to help you stay in line?" "Hardly," Alaric scoffed, leaning in closer to my ear before whispering, "be good for 'daddy' Xander while we're gone, my Dear." When he pulled back his lips claimed mine in an almost desperate way. We weren't without each other often, if ever, but they trusted that Xander and our second-in-commands would keep me safe. "Or don't," Wyatt laughed from behind Alaric and tossed me a wink. I swear this man could still make me melt instantly. When they left, I knew Xander could
MARIEIt's been two days since Marcus showed up, two days of wondering when we’d hear from the kings that Marcus was in hand, two days of losing sleep.I almost slipped back into old habits, not allowing anyone but Terran to touch me, but I needed the visions. I needed any and all insight they could give me, and so I spent the majority of my time around them.We had an ending, the kings were going to collect him as soon as possible, but in the meantime, my mom had reached out to Rhoda who agreed to help. Rhoda wasn’t so willing for everyone, but her and my mom had formed a friendship over the years, and whether my dad liked it or not, it formed somewhat of a truce between Timber and Eclipse. With any luck, Dixon would be more willing to help our cause at
MYLOMarie had me on high alert. Her instincts were just as intuitive as my mother's and when Tayo dropped Jazmin and Ainsley off with my father, he confirmed that she was also pacing.Dahlia was sleeping like the Angel she was, and there would be no part of me waking her if I didn’t have to. She was having problems sleeping since Marcus arrived and I decided to disclose the rest of the situation to her. With their own mates secured, Tayo and Mato arrived at our room promptly. Tayo was waiting in the shadows of our room with me, an unexpected line of defence should the need arise, and Mato was our heads up, our first line of brute force if necessary.'We've got company in the addition,'
MYLODahlia was awake when I returned, her body instantly relaxing as Tayo left and I entered, locking her eyes into mine, searching for solace. My Angel had tears half-dried on her cheeks and it was a tough visual to deal with. I wanted to protect her from any and all sadness, but there were sure to be a few more tears shed before this was all over.I explained the short version of events to her as I got ready for bed. Sleep wouldn’t be something I could take part in for long, but it would be a better sleepthan I’d had lately knowing Nora was safe."I knew…" Dahlia started, brushing hair behind her ear, "but I didn't… KNOW," she looked up at me. Her gorgeous brown eyes were begging me to make the pain she was feeling go away, but I couldn't make betrayal feel any better. "How cou
MYLOIt took us two long days, but we were finally about to arrive at Sun Shade. I’d gotten a message from my father letting me know they had arrived not long after the kings. While our prisoners gave them no trouble, the concern that they would, was always present. With the kings leading the way, Marcus shouldn’t dare, but he’s proven one too many times how lacking in common sense he was.He knew their reputation, but I would bet on him making his concerns more heard once we arrived with other Alphas in attendance. The kings would temper their responses because of their instincts to protect their image and their heirs, which would give Marcus the floor to vocalize all the ways he’s been wronged.Dahlia had been quiet most of the way here, but I knew that she would be on edge for numerous
DAHLIA We stepped out of the vehicle at Sun Shade and even though I was nervous beyond belief of living up to expectations as the new Luna of Timber, it was really the least of my concerns. We were here because of him. Marcus was a real threat still, and as much as I wanted to believe that leaving here he would be behind us, there was no guarantee to that end. We would be here for several days before the other council members arrived so I'd try to focus on making connections and allies for Timber while we were here, pushing every thought of the real reason we were here to the far back. Luna Raya was approaching, her golden hair was a lot like mine, except hers was partially pinned back, smaller braids hanging down her back from where it was swept into a mo
MYLO “You want an heir,” Dahlia’s voice had a certain numbness to it that I wasn’t used to. I thought she wanted a family right away, and when Kai was being vocal about sensing her strong fertility I didn’t give a second thought to it. “I want a family,” I confirmed, grasping her hands back in mine, lifting them and planting a kiss on her knuckles. “We can wait if you want to-” “But you want a son.” She was waiting on a response, but her statement was something I hadn’t given much thought to. Of course, I wanted a son. I wanted multiple sons, multiple daughters, a family as large as the one I grew up with. We were already mated, marked, and married. We should have had this conversation before everything, and now it’s been brought up awkwardly.
