Chapter 14

I was consumed in watching them, the way they looked at each other and softly grasped at one another’s arms made it seem like they were just two halves of the same person, never meant to be apart. They were tunnel visioned to each other, never breaking their sight from one another or caring what was going on around them as they fell heavier and heavier into each other.

As we all stood there watching their bond unfold, I could feel Echo’s longing for that to be us, she was like a giant puppy, lapping up all the emotions between them in awe. It was heavy, it was pure, it was everything. I was starting to understand what Echo had been saying, allowing myself to picture how it would feel to have that kind of unfiltered love, and maybe even crave that for myself.
