Chapter 18

Daphne showed me to a room and offered me a warm bath and hot meal. Both of which I refused. I wasn't looking for a bed and breakfast and I wasn't letting my guard down. 

Finally after a few minutes of being told to wait in a room– for my own good– Daphne emerged holding a dress. 

This was no random dress. The way the light danced off the silk, giving it a shimmery look was too familiar, and instantly I knew where Ophelia found the dress and why she picked it. 

It was the dress Levi picked out for me at the boutique. The one we bickered about. He insisted I get it and I refused because I had no where to wear it to. 

This was proof she had been watching us. Every time we thought she was silent, it didn't mean she wasn't there, quietly observing and waiting for the right moment.
