Eliza stared at the screen, wondering what Noah was upto again. Why was he calling her? Especially after a few months…
She wanted to cut the call and never utter a word to his face, but her curious mind got the better of her and she tapped on the green button on the screen.
With trembling hands, she placed the phone near her ears to carefully listen to what he had to say.
“Hey… Eliza…” Noah greeted with a low voice as an awkward vibe emerged between the two ex-lovers.
“What do you want? Why are you calling me?” Eliza got straight to the point. She had no interest in his small talk. His intentions for calling her, was all that mattered to her.
