"I'll be back," Valeria said to Shane.

"What? Where are you going to?" Shane asked.

Valeria gently removed Fred's head from her lap, then she placed it on the pillow, being careful not to wake him up.

When she'd done that successfully, she placed a kiss on Fred's forehead.

"I love you son, and mommy will set things right." She whispered with a small smile.

Valeria stood straight, then she faced Shane.

"Where are you going to Val?" Shane asked again.

"To see someone, you don't have to worry about anything, I'll be back soon. Just help me look after Fred."

Shane walked to Valeria, then she took her hands in hers.

"Hope you're not about to do something stupid Valeria, please, we'll figure something out, nothing will happen to Fred. I get the feeling that you're hiding something from me, please Val, don't do anything stupid." Shane said worriedly.

Valeria smiled weakly.
