Kian's POV:

The elders kept muttering to themselves and staring at me in very concerning ways. The four of us sat around a table, with me being just opposite them. They hadn't said a word since the meeting started and it was now 10 minutes in. I was visibly getting annoyed. I really did not want to be there with them staring at me weirdly and saying very unintelligible words.

My phone rang, but thankfully it was in silent mode. Lessia was the one calling. I smiled a bit despite the frustration I was passing through at the moment. I didn't pick the call.

The elders continued with their muttering. Infact it was even more intense this time after they noticed I was focused on my phone and smiling.

"Okay, can we all just cut it and spit it out?" I said. "What is it did you want to tell me? Or you just called me here to gossip in each other's ears is that it?"

The muttering seized for a while but a rather long moment of silence followed that was rather too long for a supposed meeting.
