Kian's POV

My head was a pool of confusion. The air in the Pack house was intense as they watched me continuously knocking on Lessia's door, trying to understand why she had acted that way.

Her mood before she had come in the room was that of calmness—I even found it too calm, coupled with Icy replies and a blank face. It had come as a really big shock to me when the tears began leaking out of her eyes.

I still wondered if it was something I said, or maybe did not say. But for one thing, she didn't come back out of the door no matter how much I knocked when she ran in her room. If only she had.

Lessia was a complicated woman, she was delicate, yet complicated. I wondered if it was because she had been through so much before she came here. There was a darkness around her that loomed and seemed to cause her occasional pain. I wish I could take that away and make her whole again.

I spent a pretty long time there, waiting until I couldn't hear any more of her sobs and cries anymore. wh
