Chapter 105 - Arthur

I’m standing in Bella’s hospital room, staring out the window as the council crowds into the room. I had tried to convince them that it wasn’t the time. That we could meet without her. I, as High Priest, was able to make decisions and set the plan that I had already discussed with Bella.

Of course, they threw it in my face that I wouldn’t be High Priest for long, that I was actively trying to find someone to take my spot, that I haven’t been here because I decided to take one fucking vacation in my entire life and I left Bella in charge. She had been making decisions and she needed to continue to do so.

So, here they were. I can’t fucking believe that they insisted on it. Marcus threw a shitfit, but there wasn’t much that I could do about it. The council gets what it wants when it wants unless both the High Priest and High Priestess stop it. And that wasn’t something that Bella was willing to do.
