I didn’t know if it was a blessing or a curse.

‘Blessing wrapped in a curse,’ Ante said.

I had one more chance to become Alpha. Just one chance and it's all thanks to Katrina and her pups. I could fail and get beheaded or win and become the Alpha with the vanilla ice cream by my side.

That alone was worth the risk.

I had been searching for her but even her glorious scent was hard to pick up in the biggest packhouse of all wolf territories. I had to find her. Cannon thought he was doing a good job, wasn’t he?

“Going somewhere?” I hadn’t heard that voice in a long time. I turned in the direction of the sound and sighted Ian in a dark hallway.

I could tell it was him because of the visible red-hot bottom of a cigarette that was emitting smoke.

He came out of the darkness so I could see his face better.

The f*cker had changed. He now had a dark stubble, showing he had recently shaved. His muscles were profound and he had gained weight. He wasn’t wearing those gothic clothes anymore.
