40. HOLD ON, BENHAIL.

"I don't want to go with you," Emery muttered, slipping into her pajamas and Stzing away from Benhail. "There is no point."

"Emery, I already told Isabella we would show up today. She'd have probably made dinner for us, why aren't you going with me?" He sat next to her, staring into her eyes.

"And I said I don't want to go," she stood her ground. "Why should I go with you when there is nothing special between us? You introduce me to everyone as your woman but deep down, it's an act. I am tired of doing this, I am tired of playing along with what you want and all I get is you, ditching me at the end of it all. You made the 'I am your woman' act up. It was never stated in the contract that I signed with you and I don't wish to continue with you."

Benhail flickered his eyes shut, digging his claws into his hair, he sighed. "Why are you mad at me?"

"I want to sleep and if you don't want me here I'd gladly take the guest room." She rolled on the bed.
