Freya actually thought that they were playing by the same rules. They were on the more tense ground now, and even though the room was empty save for her and him, Dante could feel it burning up with their anger. Things got progressively and unbearably worse in the week following her move, which Oscar sarcastically referred to as 'exile' from Speed to the Transportation unit ALA newsroom. It was trivia times like that that someone like Freya restricted herself.The place was a prison made from gold. Well organized with desks glued together in a wave pattern, circling huge monitors that broadcast different news channels from all over the world.The newsroom was round, with glass walls. Nearby was another conference room made of glass as well-in which fresh pastries and fruit were set in fancy baskets and elegant glass water bottles were lined together neatly. There were cabinets filled with coffee, noodles, and a display of flowers on top of them. There were hundreds of monitors, switchboard phones, keyboards, and cables running from side to side. Dante's PA was the definition of candy sweet. Unfortunately, she was also a ticking time bomb. Dante was such a tyrant, she spent the majority of the day running after him, taking orders, or sobbing softly in the restroom. Today was the fourth time Freya had found her doing that-on a Friday, of all days, a second before everyone in Seattle poured into fancy bars and hole-in-the-wall pubs to celebrate the weekend freedom-and Freya silently slid a box of tissues and a mini-box of chocolate bars into her stall. She'd been too scared to ask for Freya's help, and she didn't know how to broach the subject without making her feel weak. But that fourth time in the restroom broke Freya. To hell with her boss and his deep blue eyes, his pouty lips, dirty mouth, and personal trainer's body. There was no way in hell he was going to keep making people's life miserable. Victoria reminded Freya of what she used to pass through in the hands of Dante and his pack. Yet, she had no one to ask for help.
