Chapter 48: Grandfather shows no leniency

“She left before taking any credit. Without her you wouldn’t have won this war. So how DARE you all give her hard work and credit this woman!” shouted Eric’s grandfather. He was now pointing at Samantha who was hiding in Eric’s arm.

The soldiers were all whispering.

Enraged he continues saying, “She claims you all said she was the lucky star to win this war! Is it TRUE?”

The soldiers were all whispering among themselves.

"TELL ME!" shouted Eric's grandfather.

The soldiers were startled by his rage. After a while no one said anything.

Eric's grandfather was in rage and sat down on the chair smacking his hand on the chair.

“But we were told that you made the comment about Miss Wild,” replied one of the soldiers.

“Why would I do that?” asked Eric’s grandfather.

“We heard it from that one guy, that you said it. He said you couldn’t wait for Eric to return home to marry her.”

Eric’s eyes was startled as he was not aware such rumors were going around the camp. He looked at his commanders
