The rest of the phone call went as well as could be expected. I had convinced my mother to speak to the supernatural beings there, but more importantly, she agreed to get hold of the leader and ask her for aid to be sent our way. I didn’t expect the entire building’s worth of supernatural beings, but I hoped she would at least agree to send some werewolves or something.
From here on out, it would be a waiting game. I was popular enough with most of the werewolves there and many of the younger supernatural beings that I believed some would listen to my request for aid. Though with how much suffering some of them had been through at the hands of other Hunters, I wasn’t too certain some of them would, even if the request came from me.

When I had told Rem that being a werewolf meant I could take being roughly handled, I hadn’t expected him to be as rough with me as he had been last night. When Rem had told me we would drive to London and be not taking the bus or train, I couldn’t contain my excitement to learn something new about him. I did not know Rem had a driver’s licence, nor that he had his own car. Sure, the car was actually for Hunter work, but that didn’t matter to me. It had been about half an hour since we had arrived here and had researched the local supernatural populace. Seb had come with the required tea and biscuits and had left again just as quickly. By the time we had finished gathering as much data as we could, the click-clack of Heather’s shoes was heard once more, though this time they were accompanied by a heavier set of leather shoes tapping the ground. The drive further into the city was quiet. I had finally explained in full to Rem who I was going to talk with. At first, he hadn’t really comprehended that there was a large group of Ancient Ones camping out in St. Paul’s Cathedral, but the more I spoke of their looks and manner of speaking, the more aware he was that I was telling the truth. I realised my request for aid had surprised the Ancient Ones, not because werewolves were fighting, they were used to that, but that I had mated with a Hunter and was now working together with one for peace. They seemed unsure, but I had somehow convinced them to at least meet Rem without fear for their safety.
