Feels Right

Sleeping next to Max again last night felt right. I had never felt this way before about someone, even after having so many mates before. It’s almost as though he belongs to me, and not just as a temporary lover.

Though that’s all this is to him. I can’t deny that it makes me feel a little sad, but it’s not as though I can take him with me when it is time for me to return home.

I lean into him, my arms wrapped around him to soak in his cool skin. I hope he stays asleep like this for a little longer, just so that I can enjoy this while it lasts.

Placing feathery kisses along his shoulder and neck, I can’t help but take full advantage of him being next to me. I’m sure when he wakes up, he’ll complain, but for now, I’ll enjoy myself.

I pause as soon as I notice he has stirred slightly. I don’t want him to wake up yet, so I let him settle back down into sleep. He rolls onto his back, exposing his chest. Wi
