Chapter 10

That afternoon, a gentle rain fell upon the small town.

Lexi stood outside the hospital. She was pulling a suitcase along with one hand and holding an umbrella with the other. She was trying to hail a taxi. Her figure looked cold and lonely in the rain.

She had agreed to go back and divorce Zachary. So, she didn't have time to go through with the abortion.

A car stopped in front of her. An arm with a black mamba tattoo on the elbow rested on the car window. Two of the man's fingers were locked around a cigarette. The man in the car had a handsome, chiseled face with deep, defined features.

"Get in the car. I'll take you to wherever you're going," he said while putting out his cigarette and looking at Lexi.

While Lexi was hesitating, Claude had already opened the car door. He got out and put her suitcase in the trunk.

No longer hesitant, Lexi opened the car door and got in. "To the airport."
