39 - Slowing down

“Let me go.”

When Kael heard the words from his mate, he was stunned. He had just placed her inside the carriage Jed had prepared for him while heading back to the pack when he heard Naya speak. Even when she was struggling to keep her eyes open, she still managed to give a sharp look at Kael.

The corner of Kael’s lips lifted in a twisted smile. “What’s this? You still have the energy to talk to me yet you haven’t replied to my question earlier.”

Naya winced, her body now sensing the heavy aftermath of everything she did the entire day. She had been fighting as many people as she could remember. She was in the brink of losing her senses – probably even her life at that point, until the crazy alpha prince appeared.
