Chapter 23: Does It Matter?

Damon POV

I was not sure what Eva was thinking. Evrything was going well. I just explained her my darkest secrets and the reasonable businesses that are not legit. I told her about the toxic features in my company and even showed her the files that can destroy me in seconds.

The only reason that I did these was so that she can partner me in my work. After all, these businesses were all intiated by my father but now taking the lead, it will effect me harder. I wanted Eva to get me sources to torture the old man making him go through hell but here I am standing right in front of Eva who has a gun in her pointing straight at me.

I noticed her thin, seldom fingers slowly moving at the trigger. Eva, who has been trained under her father has the best shooting skills and there is no doubt to the fact that she will never miss her shot but today, her fingers were shivering. Her hand clearly lacked strength and she felt so weak that she had to keep her second hand in support of her first hand.
