Alpha Damon clamped up again.

Damon's POV

The way she was scratching her neck was suspicious, but I decided to let the matter go. I had already acted like a fool once, but I was not going to repeat the action the second time.

When she fell at that training ground, her eyes squeezed shut tightly, and her hand holding her side while she panted like someone almost breathing their last, I thought that was the last I would ever see her. That single thought clouded my sense of reasoning, and I had begun my race to her side, damning all forms of consequences that might come with it. If it weren't for the two people who surrounded her, my brain would not have returned to normal, and I would have still been clouded by my need to be with her and comfort her.

Even though the two people with her acted like a friend, I still stayed back to watch her reaction to them and see if she was comfortable. When I was sure of that, I returned to the mansion to wait for her return.
