Mariette P.O.V
"Momma, can I ask you something?" I asked my mother as she still cradled me close to her chest and allowed me to let out all of my tears freely. "Sure you can, honey, what's going on in that little mind of yours?" my mother asked. I pulled a bit away from her, needing to sit up straight for a bit. I could feel a head ache start to arise from all the crying. I never even thought that I would have so many tears coming out of me.
"Why ... just please tell me why you and father don't want me to see the triplets again? What happened that was so bad? I just want to understand?" I said as I felt the tears start to rise up in my eyes again. I hated all of the secrecy that was going on. I knew deep down inside of me that there was more to this story than what my parents had let onto. My mother just sighed as she stood up and walked out of my room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I just sighed as I pulled one of my pillows closer and pulled it up to my chest.
A few minutes later, a knock on the door brought me from all the thoughts that were running marathons in my head. I looked up to see my both my mother and father standing there in the doorway. My mother had a pitiful look on her face and my father had a serious look on his face. Great, another lecture comes my way. I looked the other way, out of the window, not wanting to face whatever was about to happen.
"Sweetie, we need to talk" my mother said, managing to grab my attention. I looked over at her as both my mother and my father walked over to me and at down on the bed, on either side of me. I looked between the two of them, trying to get them to get all of this anticipation over with. My father cleared his throat and it felt like I was finally able to get my answer that I needed.
"A lot of years ago, we shared the town with other supernatural species. It was right then and there that we realized it wasn't meant to be that vampires lived with werewolves or even the other supernatural species. War soon broke out and we lashed out on one another. We were constantly accused when a human suddenly died. It was no wonder that the other used the fact that we needed to drink blood, against us. Needless to say, all the heads of the species needed to meet up, to see if we would have been able to solve the problem on our own without going to a bigger war, a war that would likely end all of the supernaturals" my father said.
I couldn't understand what he was telling me. This was all so bizarre. I couldn't believe that they accused our kind of all of those awful attacks and deaths. Maybe they should have first looked back at themselves, before accusing the vampires of causing everything. "So, basically, the reason why there are no other supernaturals in town, or the reason that you have kept all of this a secret from us, growing up, was because all the other supernatural species, accused us of killing and hurting the humans?" I asked no one in particular, trying to find a method behind all of the madness. My father just shook his head and exchanged a look with my mother before going on with the whole story.
"One night, when all the heads of the species needed to meet, us and the werewolves were first in the town hall. We were about ten vampires there, I was still young and your mother was pregnant with you by that time. I was there with my own mother and father, preparing for everything. We were about ten vampires, and the wolves ... well ... there were only two werewolves. The werewolves saw it as a slap in the face, but, obviously, we didn't mean any disrespect. It was just the heads of all the families in town that were there for this meeting. The alpha werewolf who was there, took so much offense to the whole misunderstanding,he shifted into his wolf and started to attack us. The Luna werewolf of their pack also shifted and she went straight for my mother, grabbing her by the throat and taking her life" my father said and I could hear his voice start to crack up a bit.
I couldn't believe it ... a werewolf killed my grandmother. I was only told that my grandmother died of old age. So, not only have my parents managed to keep all of this world a secret from me, they lied about how my grandparents died. "Sweetie, your father doesn't have to continue with everything if you don't want him to" my mother said with a sad smile on her face. I could see that she was saddened by reliving the whole past of everything. I just shook my head, and looked up at my father, waiting for him to go on with everything. This was as close as I could get to find out the truth and I didn't want to stop here right now.
"Anyway, right after the Luna killed my mother, my father snapped on this inside, I mean, it was understandable, he just lost his wife. Everything inside my father threw him to the Luna wolf and he managed to snap her neck right then and there. Needless to say, the Alpha wolf killed my father and the rest of us were thankful that we were able to do too much damage for the Alpha wolf to stand a chance against us" my father finally said. I could see the tears start to brim in his eyes. I couldn't even have started to imagine how it had to feel for him to relive the entire ordeal, losing both of his parents.
I just sighed and moved over to my father and put my arm around him and gave him a tight hug. yes, I was pissed off with the fact that they have managed to keep all of these secrets from me, but I was also a kind-hearted vampire, I felt empathy that my father had to relive all of this. "Sweetheart, there is something else you need to know" my father said as he took my arms off of his shoulders and looked me deep in the eyes. I looked at him, confused about what else there still was to find out.
"The triplet Alphas you are destined to ... their mother was the Luna wolf who killed my mother and their father killedmy father" my father said. I looked up at him with so much shock. What the fuck?!
Mariette P.O.V I was still in so much shock by what my parents had told me. I was sitting on the balcony, overlooking the forest. I couldn't believe that it was true. The triplets seemed to be so gentle like it didn't even seem that they would be able to hurt a fly or something like that. I sighed as I stared deep into the forest, completely lost in thought. I knew that somewhere in that forest, the triplets were going about doing their thing. I couldn't understand that they could have been that vicious. They killed without reason and without having any mercy on my grandparents. I curled my legs up to my chest and rested my chin on them. I couldn't believe I managed to fall so hard and so quickly for them, without knowing how deadly they were. Before long, I felt the rays of the s
Mariette P.O.VI was born and raised like the normal vampire typically would. My parents raised me to know that we were the only supernaturals in the world. Werewolves, warlocks, and witches were just fairytales and the humans were the bad guys in the real world. That is what my world has been about, until about six months ago. Now ... now my knowledge of the world out there is completely unknown. Let me take you back.My name is Mariette Dermusk. If you haven't already noticed what I am. I am a vampire. A complete fool to believe everything my parents tell me. I was always raised to be the best in everything that came my way. I was always best in class when it came to my school work, I was always best in class during sports and I was always a daddy's girl, a "Goody two shoes" as my cousins would refer to. Whatever, they were just jealous since I beat them at literally everything.I was a good seventeen and eleven months old, and I would turn eighteen years old soon. Usually, at the a
Mariette P.O.VI was staring at Mrs. Kristen busy explaining some or other equations about trigonometry, but I couldn't stop my mind from drifting to those three I saw this morning. I struggled to place their scents. They weren't vampires, nor were they humans. I felt incredibly confused and most of all, I couldn't understand how three men could look so damn fine! I just sighed as I looked down at my page. I noticed that I unknowingly wrote down his name. I wrote down Aries in my book."Mariette, what is x?" Mrs. Kristen asked me, quickly snapping me out of my sinful thoughts. I quickly tried to scan through all of the contents that she had written on the board, trying to figure out where the hell we were in the sum. I knew that there were two other unknown values that we still needed to get. "I, uhhh, well ... x is ..." I started off. All of the other kids in the class turned around and stared at me. I saw some of them snicker and I knew that I was done for and this was most likely t
Mariette P.O.V:This couldn't be real, there is no way in hell that this could be real?! How on earth are they like ... like ... like EVERYWHERE?! Everywhere I go, I manage to run into them. At least I know now that I wasn't crazy when I met them in the coffee shop and that, indeed, they were triplets. Were they stalking me or something? The four of us just had a stare down. My hands started to feel all clammy and I could feel everything inside of me was starting to melt away as I stared back into those blue orbs. The one in the front just looked on at me with so much emotion in his face. Only when I blinked a few times and allowed reality to come back to me, I realized they were standing there in just short and running shoes, no shirt on those abs ... those abs!!I turned around in order for me to try and gain the upper hand in this situation and to keep my knees shut. "Don't the three of you own shirts?!" I managed to say, even though I wasn't regretting the image of them standing t
Mariette P.O.V:I just stood there ... my back facing the three of them. I couldn't even start to imagine what to do. Nothing in my entire life could have prepared me for all of this. I was a complete stranger when it came to these things. Yes ... my mother always loved to tell me about how my future destined should treat me and of how the destined bond would work, but I had never in a million years imagined that I would have three destineds. "You know ... you can really turn around. We won't bite ... I promise! Unfortunately, we live quite far away so the request for getting some shirts on would be a bit impossible ..." I heard one of them say.Obviously, they would say something like that! I spun around on my heels and just looked at them. I narrowed my eyes at the one in front and I instantly knew that if it was that all of this would have to develop into a bond, he would be the one that I would manage to bud heads with the most. I sighed and placed both of my hands on my hips. "So
Mariette P.O.VI walked into the house, still completely pissed off by what just happened in the forest. I had so many questions running through my head that still remained completely unanswered to me. I didn't know what to think of the entire situation. I only knew two things that were certain to me - The three of them weren't humans, and nor were they vampires. If they were vampires, I would have picked up on it immediately, and they didn't have the same scent that humans had. So, the question still remained to me, what species were they?I ran up to my room to quickly take a shower before I had to head on out to school. I knew that if I didn't hurry, I would likely miss breakfast and hell have mercy on me if I missed breakfast. The rule in the house was always that if I missed breakfast, I would most definitely not be able to take lunch to school. No breakfast always meant no lunch. Apparently, that was some sort of way for my father to discipline m
Mariette P.O.VFull lips ... three sets of lips committing each and every inch of my body to memory ... making it impossible for me to think clearly, making me feel things I never really knew were possible. How on earth could they even make me feel like this? "What's keeping that beautiful little mind of yours occupied, hmmm?" he asked, his voice husky and rough as he kissed my neck, blowing small breaths across my ear.Their small actions they did. Every touch they made to my body, sent goosebumps all over. I couldn't understand how they were getting this right. They were making me feel things I have never felt before. I looked up into his icy blue eyes, getting lost in them, loosing all my sense of reality and rationality as the words started to struggle to leave my mouth. They made sure that I was completely rendered speechless, unable to even utter a word from my mouth.Soon, the other one started to suck and nibble on an 'oh so sweet' spot on my neck, making me gasp for air as my
Aries P.O.VI had to admit that I was honestly shocked that Mariette got into the SUV with us. I knew that we were taking a big risk in doing this. I knew that there was a chance that she would give us the boot for tracking her down to her school and trying to convince her to skip the rest of the day and hang out with us. I couldn't stop myself from glancing back in the rear view mirror. Her beauty completely had me hypnotised. There was something about her, something so rare ... almost like a sort of gemstone. She reminded me so much of my mother. Maybe that was the reason why I felt so comfortable around her, she was the spitting image of my mother when it came to her personality. I loved rubbing her up the wrong way and seeing her feisty side. The moment Mariette caught me looking at her in the rear-view mirror, she made a face before giving me the death glare. Her death glare seemed to have been one of her favorite things to give me. I just snickered, causing Allec, who sat next t
