“Five years ago, I had a massive breakdown,” Hilda started.

She had finished eating already and had rested a bit when she started. Liam sat in front of her and pinned his eyes on hers as he watched her talk.

“I’d been dating this guy since college and we were together for four years before we broke apart. I was twenty- two when we broke up,” she said.

“He betrayed me. He toyed with my feelings. He… he hurt me. So, since then, I made up my mind that I was never going to do relationships again, and I meant it… not until…” she swallowed and bore her eyes on him.

“Not until I met you.”

“Hilda…”

“I like you too, Liam and I mean it, but…” she shook her head and then dropped it.
